Hosting a Christmas Cookie exchange
Did you know that December 22 is National Cookie Exchange Day? (neither did I ha)
For me, I am so fortunate to have a “quaran-team,” (that is family or friends that are also isolating and you can interact safely with). If you have one of these and want to do a cookie baking party like I did, you’re in luck. If that does not apply to you, you are going to have to get a little creative and …and may I suggest, a COVID friendly cookie exchange.
You could host a holiday zoom call or have a virtual baking party. Add in a signature cocktail and a playlist – be creative because this is about interacting with those that you love. You could make cookie packages up ahead of time and deliver a contact free doorstep delivery. If you are clever, you could coordinate it all for the same day and time and then you’ll all have a ton of cookies at home waiting for you. That sounds glorious!
Think outside of the cookie box – you could also host a bundled up, masked up exchange outside, in someone’s driveway or neighborhood clubhouse. Stay safe but also stay connected and loved – both are so important.
Since I have a “quaran-team”, I did a cookie baking meet up with my tribe. Love them so. Everyone made 2 dozen of each cookie and we all went home with containers full! Our families are still thanking us lol (I would also like all of you to notice the salad in the picture below. We aren’t complete animals lol)

Happy holidays everyone and remember, calories do not count in December!
