Polly Pick – Jenevang

 

She is pure adorable, kind and I can’t imagine how the Lily Pad got along without herl Jenevang!  I want to squeeze her..well not hard, but just to hear her giggle! You all are gonna have a blast with all her Polly Picks this time around!

Whew. OK…

My style. Let’s just call it eclectic. I love the look of clean pages, but I just can’t seem to master them. When creating, it seems that I stick to a sort of “more is better” mentality. I love full and fun pages. I will say, however, that as I look back on my printed pages, the ones I love the most are the ones that actually tell our stories. I certainly create just for the joy of the art, but I really want to focus on the stories as well. 

This is one reason I started Project Life style scrapping this year. And I have LOVED it. Even those pages, however, are filled with extra tidbits, fasteners, doodles and busy papers. I just can’t keep it simple, LOL. 

I’ve developed quite a fondness for brushes and doodles and stamps as well. Elements I can place directly on my background or photos. They add an extra bit of “something, something” that just makes me happy. 

Basically, I am in love with this creative outlet we call digi scrapping and am continually inspired to try new things and expand my artistic horizons by the variety of products available at TLP and the talent of the scrappers that frequent the TLP gallery.

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
