February Challenges

Hello everyone!  It’s Polly Karen back again with a look at our new batch of monthly challenges for February.  Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.)  You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store.  (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%).  Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate!  Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?!  You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!!  Pretty great, right?!  So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!

1.  Photography Challenge – The first challenge in the lineup for February is the Photography Challenge which is being hosted by Jenn (jk703).  Jenn is challenging you to go back to February 2024 and look through your pictures from that month and pick one of those to scrap this month.  Here’s an awesome page from Jenn with a picture from a year ago:

2.  Style Challenge – Next up is the Style Challenge, hosted by Cindy (scribler).  Cindy would like you to create a white space layout this month with at least 60% of you page with nothing on it (other than a background paper).  Here’s a perfect white space layout that Cindy created for this challenge:

3.  Random Challenge – The Random Challenge for February is being hosted by Stefanie (StefanieS) and she would like you to create a layout this month with what fills your heart with love.  Here’s a lovely sample layout that Stefanie created:

4.  Scraplift Challenge – Christa (cfile) is hosting the Scraplift Challenge for this month and she would like you to play along with a game of scraplift chain.  Simply pick a spot in the challenge thread and then pick a layout from the person above you to scraplift.   Here is a look at a layout that Christa picked, followed by her scraplifted version:

5.  Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for this month is being hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she has selected a list of three words (Energy, Focus, Direction) for you to choose to draw inspiration from.  Pick one of those three words and then use it in either your journaling or your title.  Also, since it is a journaling challenge, she is encouraging you to use at least 5 full sentences that relate to the word you’ve chosen.  Here’s a great sample page Lori created:

6.  Template Challenge – The Template Challenge for November is being hosted by Lynnette (Lynnette).  All you have to do to play along is download the free template made by Rachel Jefferies and then create a layout using that fun template.  Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample layout that Lynnette made using it:

7.  Inspiration Challenge –  The Inspiration Challenge for February is being hosted by Heather (HeatherB) and she would like you to be inspired by triangles this month.   Heather found a great template with triangles in the store and used it to create this great page:

8.  BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge.  This challenge will be hosted and posted by Natasha (bcnatty) on Friday, February 7th, when the BYOC Collection for February will be released in the store.  The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.

There is your quick peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges.  Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above.  Then be sure to also post them to the appropriate thread in the challenge forum.  See the thread HERE for further challenge guidelines and see the February Challenge Pad HERE to get started!  Don’t forget to post all of your completed layouts in the Challenge Layouts thread so we can be sure to get you the proper coupon at the end of the month.  I’ll be back near the end of the month to shine my spotlight on some of the pages created for these challenges!  I can’t wait to see what you come up with!  Happy scrapping!
