It’s a big day at the Pad!

Have you heard the flies a buzzing, the crickets chirping, all the new things going on here at lilypad? If you are signed up for the newsletter than you might have already heard. If you have not signed up for that, make sure to hop on over and sign up so you are one of the first ones in the know next time!

So hop in with me – grab a lilypad to sit on and enjoy all the inspiration in this blog post! First off, there is a new guest designer to announce for the month of November. This fabulous New York City chic is no newcomer to the pad. She has been on the creative team for some time now. It just seemed natural that she hopped over here as a guest designer. It is none other than Mrs. Gina Miller!!! Keep your eyes open all month for some really fun goodies coming from her! I am sure you have already seen some of the things that are in store for you, on the creative team LO’s!

Second, you may have heard of a new saying here at TLP. BYOC – it means “build your own collaberation”! Check out these fabulous new designs by all the designers! Since Gina is the new guest designer, the other designers had her put together a color swatch and they all made their goodies. This “kit” is phenomenal! The idea is that you pick and choose the paper packs and elements that fit your style, although if you are anything like me you will want them all! You will be able to buy things seperately or all together for a great price too! Enjoy the previews here and be sure to hop over quickly to the store to pick them up!

Here are the many LO’s that we as a creative team had a LOT of fun making!

And since it is Digital Scrapbooking Day on Saturday we are going to be having a challenge! Create a LO using 95% BYOC products and upload to our Lilypad Challenge Gallery (please note – this gallery is ONLY for posting LO’s for challenges hosted at TLP – and must always include TLP products) by midnight (est) Sunday Nov. 4, 2007. The winner will be chosen at random from that gallery and will win a $25 gift certificate to The Lilypad!

Happy Digital Scrapbook Day!

I’m a creative who pulls inspiration from all corners of life—both the joyful highs and the real-life moments that punch you in the gut. Honestly, I don’t think I can pin down a single scrapbooking style for myself, so let’s just go with eclectic. My layouts really depend on my mindset. If I’m in a deep, cerebral mood, you’ll likely see something chaotic and messy. If I’m more relaxed, it tends to come out clean, simple, and structured.

My brain is usually running on several channels at once, so it’s completely normal for me to be working on a digital layout, dabbling in a hybrid project, and getting messy with art journaling or mixed media—all at the same time.

Here are a few of my go-to tools: Digital: Adobe Photoshop CC + my MacBook; Photos: Canon Rebel or iPhone; Hybrid: Cricut Joy + sewing machine; Art Journaling: watercolors, stencils, and artsticks

And when it comes to embellishments—digital or physical—I’m always reaching for messy threads, ribbons, and Polaroids. Always the Polaroids.
