    Hello,

Here is my tuto for the effect in my photo for the MOC Day 5

It's the same as the "tilt shift" method but the first layer is the photo in b&W and the second is in colors.

My english is not good, and I work with Gimp ... I hope to be able to answer your questions ...

It's a beautiful effect, really stunning on your chosen photo. I only have PSE so not sure how to get the tilt shift with that, but thanks for sharing.

Violin ... you are a sweetheart to share this with us! Thank you! I just love this effect on your photo!

You should be able to do this just fine in PSE!

The 1st (or bottom layer) is B&W and all you have to do is go up to Filter and then Blur (it is near Sharpen). Choose Gaussian Blur and select a subtle blur for your photo. Then on the 2nd (or top most layer), leave that one in color and create a mask.

TIP: (If you have an early version of PSE without the mask feature a cheat is to create a new Adjustment Layer (just temporary). It doesn't matter what you pick. Do nothing. Once the the new "non" Adjustment layer is created you will see an empty mask. Grab it and drag it down to that 2nd layer (the color one). Now you have a mask! Simply delete that 3rd, temporary "non" Adjustment layer.

Now fill in the mask using the Marquee Tool ... whatever area is white will show through or REVEAL the color and whatever is black will CONCEAL the color. White reveals and black conceals, when working with layer masks.
