just got a new email from Chatbook!!!! Excited about this size! I will be ordering! Who else like ordering 8x8?
I have been printing photobooks in 8x8 (which is our size 20x20cm) since the beginning, i.e. 2003. It's a great size, not bulky, but not too tiny. I love it.
I've done 8x8 before but not for photo books. With journaling, elements it's more important to test what the final will actually look like. Pure photos? great! btw, I've never used Chatbooks but I like that there's no shipping.
I like 8x8. I printed that way cuz it was MUCH less expensive than 12x12. I've never used chatbook but now may be the time to try. And yup, you've gotta watch your font size: gotta go big lol so people can read it!
I love this!! I was just checking in to it myself! I always print 8x8 books and I am about to order from them anyway (instagram photos). I may give it a try really soon!!
Up to 366 pages!!!! How awesome would that be!! Did I do the math right? It would be $126 for a 366 page book?
I've got about 6-8 of their social media 6x6 books. I even printed some "pretty" scrapbook pages in 2 of them. The pages that don't have any journal or stories ..the ones I just made for creative release etc. I love them at 6x6 but not for my journaled pages, so I'm super excited for their 8x8!!!
I've been printing all my photo books at 12x12 since the beginning, and I'm geared to scrapping that size for printing (fonts, photo size, etc.). I wish there was an 8x8 option back then but I'm not sure whether to make the switch or not! Maybe I'll just print 12x12 for me and 8x8 for the kids. And I love the amount of pages!! That's awesome. I'm also hoping that this will mean other printing companies will follow suit, both with product and cost. I hate the cost of printing 12x12, but I love how the pages look.
The quality isn't the best on their 6x6 albums, but those were intended for "social media" photos. That was their whole spiel get photos off your IG or FB feeds and into your hands. But the page weight is thick and tough. The pages are a matte feel and fingerprint resistant. I love them because it allows me to get my photos into albums which I don't do often with the price of getting scrapbooks printed. I don't know if the 8x8 will have the same quality or better.
