Terms of Use & Licensing
Updated June 10, 2025
The Lilypad is home to a collective of independent designers, each with their own artistic voice—and their own Terms of Use. This page outlines the general site-wide policies for product usage, with the understanding that each product you download includes a designer-specific TOU. That TOU always takes precedence, so please review it before using any item commercially or outside personal use.
If you have questions about a specific product’s usage rights, you are always welcome to reach out directly to the designer, or contact us and we’ll help get you in touch.
???? Personal Use
Unless otherwise stated, all products purchased at The Lilypad are for personal use only and are intended for use by the individual customer who made the purchase.
You may:
- Use products in your own scrapbook pages or hybrid projects (including printed works)
- Post your layouts online or on social media (credit is appreciated but not required)
- Submit your work to galleries, magazines, or other publications (please credit the designer if possible)
- Back up your files to your own personal storage or external hard drive
- Use the products across multiple devices that belong to you
You may not:
- Create templates, quick pages, or other redistributable files based on the original work
- Share, distribute, or resell any part of the product—whether in whole or in part
- Upload files or zip folders to file-sharing sites, Google Drive, Dropbox, or similar platforms for others to access
- Share download links with others (even if they’re fellow scrappers—send them to the store instead!)
- Alter and claim the work as your own
???? Commercial Use (CU)
Some products at The Lilypad are available for Commercial Use (CU), typically allowing usage in other digital kits, creative projects, or client work with proper modification and adherence to the designer’s terms.
That said:
- Commercial Use never includes reselling items “as is.”
- Use in a broader product for resale must include meaningful modification or incorporation into a larger design.
- Scrap-for-Hire and Scrap-for-Others (S4H/S4O) is not universally permitted. Check the designer’s TOU for details and permission.
If you’re unsure if your intended use qualifies, it’s always best to ask.
???? Licensing
Designers at The Lilypad may offer additional licensing options for educators, businesses, or professional creatives. These may include extended use rights, classroom licenses, or all-inclusive bundles.
Please check the product listing or contact the designer directly to inquire about extended licensing options.
???? Changing Policies & Usage Rights
As the creative industry evolves, so do usage policies. Designers may update their Terms of Use at any time. Always refer to the most recent TOU included in your download or on the product page.
