There's been lots of food talk this month, so I'll just continue the theme. lol
What is your 'go-to' dish? That special dish you make that everyone just loves or has a special place in your heart when you make it?

I'd have to say mine is lasagna and/or the shrimp dip I make.
Both are my mom's recipes that she passed down that I've made my own now.
Everyone in my house loves them.

I don't cook for other people! But when I would take things to family gatherings I usually took one of my rice krispie treats, either the marshmallow or the chocolate/butterscotch/peanut butter.

I have a bunch of recipes.... but the one that is most requested is my peanut butter chocolate poke cake. The funny part is... I don't eat it! Too much peanut butter and chocolate. :giggle Bleck! :P

Otherwise, I get requests for my spinach and artichoke dip and a bunch of apps. Apps are my fav to make.

My husband likes my Tex Mex Meatloaf, my one son loves my Shrimp & Bacon Corn Chowder and my other one likes my Elote Corn Salad. What's with the corn? lol I just realized.

Homemade mac and cheese. Served with steamed broccoli because the mac and cheese is very rich (I do it retro style, no low fat substitutions!)

Rice crispy treats and snickerdoodles are my go-to desserts. The secret to my rice crispy treats is to use off brand marshmallows (I prefer Walmart marshmallows).

Homemade pizza is my go-to meal. Everyone loves it but it is a labor of love because it takes awhile. The secret is to cook it as hot and fast as possible (so we bought a charcoal pizza oven).

I make a berry tart with sweet mascarpone cheese filling that never fails to get raves. It is a ton of work, though, so I don't make it often.

oh gosh... I have to say for me, I make really great lamb shanks, my Aunt's pot roast and many of my Mother's specialties. I love my cold salads too.. living here in Virginia I can't get the salads we grew up with. I make my Mom's Cole Slaw and Potato salad which are some of my requested items for when we do barbeques. I make these all year long though. Deli salads here are awful. Growing up in New York, they are made so differently.

It was lasagna, but one day my oldest DD told the family when we were eating it that her younger sister's lasagna is better (she is a very good cook), but I did make a mac n cheese for her when she came home this year. (she is in japan)

My most requested is probably buffalo chicken dip or strawberry pretzel salad.

Soda cracker pie - it was my mom's recipe and is just so good! Perfect sweet salty combo

Potato filling for us here in PA. My grandmother made it for every holiday meal and it always reminds me of her. I even have her Corningware casserole dishes she used to bake it in thatI use which are priceless to me. Also, her pumpkin bread, sour cream cut-out cookies, and spritz cookies which I use her old cookie press for.

My husband's grandmother LOVES these and they are a requirement at every family dinner. We call them 'scotcharoos' although I'm not sure that's an actual official name. LOL

I don't have a go-to really. I tend to mix stuff up all the time and it can be months in between repeating meals. I get bored easily. :giggle

We love homemade pizza, too, but I often skip making the crust from scratch (even though it's so much better that way... I just don't always want to take the time). Love the tip on the pizza cooking time/temp. Don't have a charcoal oven, but I'll play around with temps in our oven. Thanks!

My most requested is probably buffalo chicken dip or strawberry pretzel salad.

My husband's family always used to make buffalo chicken dip for family gatherings and he made the mistake of making it for a Christmas eve celebration we had at my house, and now certain family members beg for it every year. It's gotten to the point that he doesn't want to make it anymore because they devour it and hardly eat anything else. He reluctantly shared the recipe just so he wouldn't have to hear about it anymore! I personally don't care for anything buffalo flavored, but it's one of my daughter's favorites so he is going to make it for her when she comes home from Rhode Island for Thanksgiving break.

Over the years, most requested were crockpot grape jelly meatballs, pizza pops (from scratch, but too much work for me to want to do now) and broccoli salad. Nowadays (being low carb) I would say it would be my keto brownies.

I honestly don’t have a go to now. I was never a great cook or terribly interested in it and anything I did have as a “go to” I probably can’t eat now.

If I’m talking about requested items from others, I’d say my mums potato salad or any homemade soup (that “recipe” changes all the time).
