Let's do a finish the sentence - You know it's December when...

*just about every ad on the radio has sleigh bells ringing in the background
*post parcel delivery makes you both excited and cringe (or is that every month for other people?!)
*you're dying for MOC ( or again is that every month?!)

You know it's December when . . .
  • my husband buys eggnog every time he goes to the grocery store
  • you want to watch all the Christmas movies

You know it's December when you get out the boxes of Christmas ornaments and you get excited over them - again.
You know it's December when you get excited over how pretty your shrubs look with the white twinkle lights on them.

You know it's December when you hum Christmas songs all day and it's freezing cold outside.

You know it's December when you leave for work at 7am and don't get home until after 9pm because of a Christmas party, and then have to get ready and go to another one the next day.

You know it's December when you can't walk through the house without tripping over a box or package.

You know it's December when the UPS drivers know you by name. (We've been calling them the Brown Santas Clauses for years now.)

You know it's December in Florida when you have to slog through store inventories full of ugly holiday sweaters to find an ugly holiday t-shirt - and when you spend each day flipping between windows open or a/c on.

You know it's December when the heat gets you down, you can't wait for it to be dark enough to switch on the Christmas tree lights. Your toes and fingers are painted Santa red. The cookies adorn the kitchen counter. Christmas carols play in the stores.

You know it’s December when...

Every night there is a Xmas movie to watch and it’s dark out so early now.

when the thought of going near a big mall fills you with dread
oh yep - the thought of carparks at this time of year especially fills me with a certain level of fatigue!

lol one of my fave things about December is it's light til at least 8pm!

apart from Santa red, it's like we live in the same house!

yep, the mailperson knocking on the door for a signature rather than chucking everything in the mailbox happens a whole lot more in december - i don't think they even bother with holiday sweaters here, t-shirts all the way!

the struggle is real! the displacement of furniture and everything gets me in December too - i may have a few bruises down one leg from remembering i moved some wooden furniture the hard way the other night and finding hiding spots for new stuff is starting to get difficult

lol i've been trying to *not* hum xmas songs the last few days but they're hard to get out of your head once you hear them!
You know it is December when SAD kicks in... January can't come fast enough for me!
i know it can be unbelievably hard - is there anything that helps you? do you have one of those light therapy lights (i don't know that they work really - my mum gets this mid-year here and we don't even have snow or anything)?

there's never enough time for all the xmas movies! and you can have all the eggnog! - must be an acquired taste that i just don't have (or want LOL)

You know it's December when . . . you begin counting down til MOC!!!:rollin:party3:rollin

Mine is due to previous events that have happened during this period of time over the years. Basically I lost 3 grandparents and my mother between Thanksgiving and Christmas although different years. And, I ended up putting my 2 previous dogs down 4 years ago December 4th. I have an essential oil blend that is formulated for PTSD that helps me get through the days. But the season is and always has been a downer that started over 45 years ago. Once January 1st gets here, I'm fine and that is when most people get their SAD!

You know its December when ...

you can't find a parking spot at either Costco or the mall.

everything looks so sparkly and cosy inside, you don't even want to leave the house.
