Y'All, Youse and You Guys

I think the quiz didn't get me. It had me regionally in the western United States (accurate), but it placed me in southern California and I live in the great northwest (Seattle area). Guess I'm an anomaly.

Interesting. The quiz put me in Detroit because of Devils night ; Stockton because of frontage road, and Modesto because I've never heard of drive through liquor stores.
We don't have drive through liquor stores in Utah, nor did we have them in Massachusetts or Southern Ontario. In fact, where do they have them?
I've never lived in California. I did live outside Detroit for 9 months of my life. But the colors of the map were most interesting to me. It was heavy red - orange above the Mason Dixon line which pretty well represents my childhood. Minus California.

I grew up in Florida and saw drive-through liquor stores, but if there was a special name for them, I was too young to care, I guess. My parents don't drink much and I left when I turned 18 so I guess it didn't come up. I saw them in Texas (where my extended family live) as well.

You are not alone. I couldn't recall another one right now if I had to.

Ha Ha!!! My grandmother said "spatularrrr". (She was mostly Virginia, New Jersey, Montreal.) She also said some other fun words with an "r" sound on the end where it truly didn't belong. Though, of course, I cannot think of the words now!

Lorry answered above. I definitely think drive-thru liquor stores are a southern thing. Apparently we take our adult beverages seriously. :giggle I was not familiar with the concepts of daiquiri stands until my first trip to New Orleans in my late teens/early 20s. I was taken aback by the idea of walking up to an adult beverage stand to order a frozen daiquiri as easily as one might order a snow cone. I even recall making the reference back then. Wow, at home we have a snow cone stand on every corner, and in Louisiana they have daiquiri stands on every corner.

So, I was totally a "you guys" girl growing up. My Dad was in the Army so we lived all over but the majority above the mason-dixon line. Then in High School we moved to Arkansas and for most of my adult life I've been either out of the country or in the South - so now I'm more of 'Y'all" girl. But, I'm comfortable with both of those.

Unfortunatley my map wouldn't load - I'll have to see if the link works later and report back.

I had to load it on my computer. It wouldn't load in my phone. I hope you get to see it.

CRAZY!!! Mine totally nailed it for me - Grand Rapids MI! Also gave me Boise and Spokane, so those cities/areas must use some similar words! That was a fun!

This is my mom. She puts an "r" on anything that ends with an "a" ... so soda becomes sodar. AND, anything that ends in an "r" she literally cannot say with out really slowing down and thinking first. One of our dogs is named Ginger and she calls her "Ginga" ... we tease her to death. She grew up in the bronx (NYC).

I am a total YOU GUYS girl too. I'm very self conscience of it in the forums - where people come from all over. My quiz results pretty much nailed me. North Jersey, lower NY ... which is a mix of where almost everyone in my family comes from. Although a lot of family lives in central NJ now. Fun quiz!
