As a non-Halloween person, one of the things I look forward to seeing most here in the gallery are people ( & pets!) in costumes. Do you dress yourself or kids or pets up for photos or gatherings at this time of year? Feel free to share your photos of ugly sweaters!

It's too hot here to wear more than is necessary usually but our kids wear Xmas t-shirts (over swimmers usually) & one year it was pretty cold by our Xmas standards & I wore a Santa hat but its usually just novelty earrings for me, and our pets aren't the dress up kind - my eyes would be clawed out by the feathered one, & unless they now make antler headbands for goldfish, then I'll have to live vicariously thru the gallery again!

None of us really have any kind of Christmas costumes. We have a few Santa hats laying around that we put on from time to time, and reindeer antlers for the dog, but he never would wear them. I've done ugly sweater things in the past, but usually just made my own. I am so totally a tight wad, I have a really hard time buying anything that's only going to be worn a handful of times a year haha. Here's one I made a couple of years ago...

We don't do costumes, but might pull out antler headbands or Santa hat! I have a Santa shirt that I will wear when it gets closer to work or a relaxed fun night with friends. :)

We don't really do costumes either. It's almost cool enough for a sweater, but I'm like Jan, and too cheap to buy one!
We do have a santa hat that is usually laying around, but I haven't seen it out this year. Must investigate!

Last year our church had an ugly Christmas sweater contest. That was pretty fun.

The closest I get to costumes is making sure my kids all look half way decent for Christmas day....dresses, tights, shoes, dress shirts and pants that are all sort of Christmas looking. It exhausts me just thinking about it.

I may be able to sneak a photo off her phone but you should have seen my dd today. So earlier this week she got an elf sleep poncho (like who wears a poncho to bed??) that is red/green stripe and comes with an elf hat with a bell. So for psychology class today they all wore Christmas stuff (homeschoolers are a bit weird). She wore her cow onesie with jingle bell socks and the Christmas poncho, so a Christmas cow.

She was wearing the poncho while we were wrapping gifts at the mall and someone asked if she was Santa's elf. Speaking of being at the mall, tonight the new Star Wars movie came out and Darth Vader, a Storm Trooper, and about 6 different variations of Boba Fett came by while they were waiting for the movie to start. I think ds has pictures of that.

If I can, I have my kids wear Christmas teeshirts when we decorate the tree or make a gingerbread house. They both have a fancy outfit for Christmas Eve when we go to church & coordinating Christmas jammies for bed, and I need to find something festive-looking for Christmas Day that's between casual and fancy.

I am a big lover of the Ugly Christmas Sweater. I currently have three and have worn all of them already this year.
Last Tuesday we had a Christmas party at school and I somehow forgot to wear one. But they gave away these headbands and I negotiated with a student for the blinking Rudolph nose. :agree

You are awesome and an awesome reindeer! One of the beer companies here, DH told me last week, had some competition, I think you had to send in a few barcodes , to enter for an ugly sweater vest (woolen or acrylic, not sure which] but either way we said it would be too hot to wear on Xmas here... Plus he's more the Grinch kind & such festiveness (ugly though it may be) would have been wasted on him
