Work In Progress Layouts

@littlekiwi I like the word art from the A true friend kit. Do you have anything with more green/brown papers? Or does Girl Scouts have a different color scheme there? Like, I adore that brown color on the Sara Gleason kit above, a solid of that would be good.

To be fair, I can't actually remember their uniform colors as it was not quite 20 years ago now that it happened so I'm really just looking for something sort of themey that will go with the photos if that makes sense

I love the idea that Cheryl gave you of looking at the colours.
I usually choose a back ground paper colour as a neutral or close to the background of the photo and then highlight with a colour that the person is wearing that I want to stand out. In this case whatever colour you're wearing. The eye is naturally drawn to that colour within the photo.

I love how you finished those two layouts and you totally rocked them!

Thanks @Eyeore for the love on the two layouts above. With the third layout, I am the one in the teal/green top on the left in the photos on the left and the centre of the photo on the right. I am just so undecided as I could use bits from all the kits I've found above but none seem quite perfect for the story

Done is better than perfect!
Go with the bits that are drawing you in from each kit. For me, not every layout can be my favorite, or even perfect.

I see from your gallery you have JJ October BYOC papers. What if you used one of the green ones for the background, because Girl Scouts in general is very nature orientated. Then, you could use one of the cream ones in place of the woodgrain. Add the word art and elements from your kits that you were drawn to, and then tell the story. You could use the purple to frame the big photo. It might be the right color that it will contrast with your teal clothes, and highlight you. Or, maybe the colors will be all wrong. :-) You could go with the brighter colors of the kits you choose too, but it might be too much bright because the photos on the left have so much color going on. I hope that makes sense. Like, the orange and pink in that bottom photos is a lot, so more bright papers might overwhelm the photos. I know often when I have really bright colors and a few photos, I need to use more neutral and tone on tone prints to help bring it together.

@bestcee, I might make my own little mini kit of what I like from each kit and see whether it gels. Was hoping to somehow have one kit that I go "yes" as my starting off point....I can usually add bits from there, its the base kit that is throwing me off. On second thought, maybe I should go and have a look at my Jaimee stash and see what could work from there then I can add bits I like from what I'd found. Also I might try black and white photos for the smaller ones....could make finding a kit easier

I've had an absolute brain meltdown here....does anyone recognize the template set and know its name? I forgot to pop it into File Info when I initially saved it a couple of days back

Here's where I am at now....I'm not confident at where to put other elements....I've picked out a selection of bits and pieces but just not sure a)whether I've selected enough and b) how to place them in the template

Apologies that the elements aren't shadowed in my "preview"
