Wish me luck!

IF you need to get a new apple (hoping you don't) but if you do.....and if you have to get a 15" you could always hook it up to an external monitor if you want bigger. Not ideal but it works!

I went in on Friday... and after I met with the Genius and he worked/tested/completed... I had to drop it off... :cry I was super sad.

So... they were able to repair it, but it would erase my hard drive and I would have to start from scratch.

So... I lost about 3 months of pictures/files/stuff. It could be worse, and I have to look at the big picture. 3 months versus years of items...

Still. :cry

I have it back, it's repaired, and now I have to re-load all software, and get back into the groove.
 
Oh, Jenn. I'm sorry for your 3 months lost! I feel your pain, but agree that it is better than EVERYTHING. Also, really glad they could fix the machine and you don't have to replace it. That is fantastic news!

Good reminder to back up frequently :( The only computer crash I had lost me about a little over 6 months of data... photos/documents/kits/random stuff... and it was painful. I was thankful that I hadn't lost more, but it got me on a monthly back up schedule (that I've been slacking on recently). It's amazing how fast time flies by...

Oh yuck. Hard to say Yayy when you lost 3 months but at the same time I do want to say Yayy because that is much much better than losing it all. Sigh... (hugs)
 
Oh Jen! I'm so sorry to read that you lost those photos and files. I love your positive attitude! It is indeed only 3 months and it could have been much worse. Glad they were able to repair the 'puter and glad that you are able to move on and scrap again!
 
Oh Jenn, what a bummer! I'm so sorry about all the lost files. Did you get some pages done with some of the missing photos? Those pages will live on online at least.

I feel your pain, though. Once when I was travelling, I lost/someone stole my memory card and I lost all the photos on it. I cried.

Glad you at least got your computer back, though.

Thank you! The biggest hump has been that I only have a few of the photos from those months. It actually taught me to take some more pictures with my cell, rather than my big camera, lol! Who'da thunk that?! :)

I have to be positive... it is a small window of a huge chunk of time. Big picture makes it look smaller. It still hurts, but my boys said they would take double the pictures for the next 3 months, lol! :)

Thank you everyone... I'm already downloading PS, contacted to get some links reset so I have some of the newer goodies I purchased, and getting back some fonts and other purchases - (RadLab!).
 
oh Jenn that stinks! so sorry for your loss! especially since so many pics were w/your good camera! :( glad you can keep your current computer though! it's such a pain to go back and reinstall and re-download everything. hope you're back on track soon! :)
 
So feel for you Jenn! I lost first 4 months of my son's pics in a similar incident. There were two pics of his first breath that I can't erase from my memory ... I yearn to have those two pics! So sorry that you lost your pics .... But also yay that you got your laptop ... Almost as good as new can we say :)

I was luckier than I thought.... I found more photos in the "cloud" than I thought I had shared. Yay. I'm only missing all of May and half of April. I have a big chunk of both June and July that make me super happy! (I have my birthday and July 4th among others!) Yay!

What I lost the most of, which I just figured out, was all of my scrapping stash. I was able to reset some links with Laura, and checked with a few of my CT designers, and my stash will grow in no time!

Nothing like a forced purge, right?! Goodness. I was lucky... found actual photos, and some scrap supplies can be re-downloaded.




Thanks to everyone for the kind words, and encouragement. They meant a lot. Kept me looking on the bright side!
