**WINNER ANNOUNCED: Paper Challenge-- win $5!-- Summer School Week 3

I love, love PRD templates, was planning on using it someday, but this challenge nudged me to do it now. Used paper as pieces, clipped to paint, clipped to title, background and clipped to element.

I love that everyone has been explaining exactly what they did with their paper in each of their steps. That way, if someone is inspired by your work, they will know how to replicate it. We learn from each other!

The five ways I used paper:
1. Blended 2 papers for background
2. Clipped to paper strips
3. Clipped paper to scalloped border
4. Clipped paper over alpha for title
5. Clipped papers to mats/labels

5 ways I used paper:
1. Background
2. Template - clipped to photo mats, strips of paper
2. Clipped to mask
3. Blended/filtered two papers together
4. Blended 6 papers together on a mask to clip to font and then clipped directly to second font
5. Clipped to washi tape

Here We Go:
Everything is Just Jaimee Storyteller July 2016 (the frames are from the Storyteller Collab with Sara Gleason) except for the "Fun Folds" overlay which is Scrapping with Liz.
1- I blended two papers together, a solid and a print for the yellow circles background. (I believe I used colour burn for this.)
2- I then cut a bunch of shapes out of that new blended paper, and put the green paper in behind.
3- I used the cookie cutter to crop various circles out of other papers and placed them at the bottom right corner.
4- I trimmed down the blue polka dot paper and layered my frames on top of that. But, I then used a Scrapping with Liz Fun Folds overlay, blended it using "multiply" at 20%.
5- I clipped a solid purple paper to my text to make the "Rock Painting" title.

I wanted to repeat the multi-sized circles in lots of places, and I liked having it spread through 3 layers of the paper. Also, I'm obsessed with designs that move on a diagonal.

Papers, papers papers:
  1. Background is two of Dawn's papers blended with Darker Color
  2. Paint effects are Lynn's papers clipped to paint masks and transparency set to 75
  3. Title is Dawn's paper clipped to Text
  4. I clipped Dawns paper to the frame
  5. Nancy's papers are clipped to the number elements.

Finally finished a summer school challenge! Yay!

Here's how I used my papers:
1. Paper clipped to title brush
2. Two papers blended for brown circle photo mat
3. Paper clipped to paint splatters on right of photo
4. Background
5. Layers in template
Thanks for the fun challenge! I don't usually clip papers to brushes or blend them so this was good practice for me.

Here's mine! I used the papers 5 ways as follows :
Clipped to a template (strips either side and rectangle over right photo)
Cropped and made into a mat for the photos (wood effect paper)
Clipped to an element (circle at the top left of photos)
Blended into the background (wood effect stripes)
For the background.

I love patterned paper so this was a perfect challenge for me!

1. 2 papers blended for the background and also for the blue vertical paper piece (this one used the exclusion blending mode).
2. Paper clipped to a 'misting' layer on the template.
3. Papers clipped to various template shapes (triangles, label).
4. Papers clipped to a rectangle shape to create my own journal card (base for the title).
5. Papers clipped to both Explore and Our World in the title.
6. Paper and embellishment clipped to a template shape, duplicated with the top layer having a kraft style by Mommyish applied and opacity lowered to create the 'let the adventure begin' embellishment at the bottom left of the page.

Summer School is so much fun! This week I was even able to finish a lay out in time for the challenge.

All the ways I used paper from 'back to front':

-background
-backgroundpaper with parts erased using eraser brush tool, changed opacity (90%)
-backgroundpaper with parts cut out using magic wand
-paperclips extracted from paper by using the magic wand and then cutting away all but the parts that cover the blue/grey by using the magic wand on the paperlayer below (does that make sense?), changed opacity (80%)
-clipping paper to the ribbons, the pink/orange paper reduced in size to make the pattern smaller and more suitable for the small ribbons
-reduce paper in size and shift to sides of the lay out so only part of it is visible
-clipping paper to the photo frames
-love embellishment: clipped two papers to embellishment; top paper with word 'love' cut out by using magic wand on embellishment & changed opacity (60%)
-heart embellishment: blending (top paper: overlay/80%) two papers together before clipping them to embellishment
-clipping papers to the title, happy word with regular sized paper, birthday with enlarged paper to suit the word better
-using the color picker tool on the second background (partly erasedaway layer to determine the color of the font for 'dear daddy'

here's mine - coming in close to the wire i think but it's been one of those 'took 3 sittings to finish it' pages

here's my papers process:
1. Blended 2 papers for BG (wood from Cabin Fever and polka from Heaven and Nature Sing (both by Forever Joy));
2. Clipped papers to SWL Folded template
3. Used a Val Wibbens' A Bit Worn template to make Cabin Fever reddish paper mat look more like crumpled gift wrap
4. Clipped different wood paper from Cabin Fever to Mommyish's Dynamic Shading Bits template for date
5. "Tore" paper with torn edge overlay
6. Clipped paper to Just Jaimee stars in circles stamp from December 2014 Storyteller

1) Spotted background paper peeking through cracks & chips
2) Blended chipped paper & flower paper to make a new one
3) Filled text strip with paper, positioning so that flowers on edge of paper are on edge of strip
4) Filled title tag with paper
5) Cut-out jar from paper for trapping fairy
