**Winner announced** Alpha Challenge | Summer School 2024: Week 1 LANGUAGE ARTS

Welcome to Summer School 2024! Here is your first weekly challenge.​

This week we are focused on Language Arts, and this challenge specifically focuses on the use of bold title work using an Alpha. The alpha category in the store is further broken out into different types of alphas:

• Dimensional
• Doodled
• Flat
• Mixed
• Stamped + Painted

This week all the Alphas are on sale, so now is a great time to check them out. While I admit I'm often in a hurry and go for a font rather than open each letter of an alpha, I'm never sorry when I do! It really does add something extra.

The challenge today is to make a big bold title using one or more alpha from The Lilypad. You may combine this alpha with fonts if you would like. You may use one of the bold title templates, like this, or this, but you must still add an alpha as a component if you go this route.

I was inspired by an old MOC challenge from 2021 that Em presented called Go Big or Go Home. She referenced a really terrific web article called Big Letter Titles On Layouts: Scrapbook Inspiration! It's worth checking out.

I hope you too find something there to inspire you.

Create your new page featuring at least one alpha to create your title work.
- Be bold with your title, it should be a focus of the page.
- You may use fonts or actions/styles *in addition* to your alpha choice, but you need to use an alpha. The alpha may be a stand-alone product or part of a kit.
- This title should be at least a word, but may also be a phrase or quote.

Rules Recap:

• Deadline is: July 14 at 11:59pm EDT
  
• Your new page must include at least one alpha product by a current Lilypad designer. The alpha should be used boldly. You are free to use any other papers, elements, templates, styles etc. for your page.
  
• Page must be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and posted/linked in this challenge thread to enter. GALLERY RULES: Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products. (Templates count as 15%.) Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits (including the alpha); no off-site linking allowed.
  
• No double dipping - page should be created for this challenge alone.

 

This is a wonderful gift to return to see after a few awful days at work! Happy 4th of July to those celebrating. The short work week makes the rest of the days killer in my work though
