How old was he when he got it? I think the stuff is so cute - My DH is going to Germany for work & I want to send him to a toy store to get the mermaid sets that are not available here in the states unless you pay a fortune for shipping on ebay. Playmobil is right up there with Lego in my books. Quality and really feeds the imagination. My one nephew started collecting it quite young up until he was 11 or 12. He has that collection packed safely away to be saved for "someday," and will not let his mom get rid of one bit of it.
Jaz has the modern house with a million accessories and LOVES it. SHe got it for her 2nd birthday and we took all the TINY stuff away till she was 3. She adores it and all the vehicles too.
I was thinking of getting some for my boys too... They love anything with wheels. Our local toy store has a playmobile sale this month so I'll have to go and check it out. But from what I've heard it's a great toy.
we had TONS of these things, but I got really really tired of the pieces...lol My boys constantly just broke them and lost all the pieces and they aren't like legos where you can just build something new ya know? So I got rid of them...cause they are not cheap...lol I think I am in the minority though ,lol

I *think* both of those sets are NOT available in the US. From what I have read, we are like on a 2 year delay getting what Europe has ... which is why I have my DH bringing pieces back from his work trips. LOL. That dragonish thing is scarrrrrrrrrrrrrry! LOL
My kids both love them, they are 3 and 7. My 7yo mainly plays with them with her sister now though, rarely on her own. And they are awesome! They aren't cheap, but I think they are great quality, my kids have lots of playmobil stuff that my brother and I played with when we were little, and most of it is still as good as new.
I've never heard of this either. Maybe it hasn't reached Australia yet....we are always a bit behind! lol
I'm more of a Lego mom, but I'm seeing more and more Playmobil sets I'd like to buy. Maybe this Christmas!
My kids have playmobil and love it. DS has knights set with a castle, DD just few little figures but we plan to add some girlie stuff from this brand too
