Our pool as sort of been officially open for swimming for a few weeks, but this weekend was the 1st time the water has been warm enough for the kids to enjoy it. They spent 3 hours in the pool on Saturday and it was glorious :giggle

And my oldest invited his friends to swim this week as well. Awesome (cuz, you know... I know where they are).

Loving the pool and loving that it's warm enough to swim. Anyone with me? What's your swim season where you live? Ours is May through September. Love!

ours is JUNE to November...and I can not wait!! We go to our city pool (about 10 blocks away) and practically live there! from 1pm to 6pm Mon thru Friday and Saturday if I can swing it..and a few hours on Sunday! $100 family monthly pass. Best deal in the world for our brood!

I love love water, and being in the desert, having a pool so close is a joy!

No pool for us and it's 52˚ here now!!! We haven't really had any warm weather yet.

No pool... but we are shore people! We head to the shore many weekend in the summer. We are there a lot year round, but start to go in the water in June through September. :giggle

my parents have a pool, and I can say I've not been in it since Last july. Maybe I'll get in it this july. I don't care for swimming... love the ocean, but not close to a beach. And again... swimming. i just like to sit on the beach.

We are in Northern Alabama, about 90 minutes south of Nashville, so it has been warm for a while, but our neighborhood pool just opened this weekend, and my 14 year old has already been there, both trying to swim (it was a bit chilly!) and just hanging out with friends. Earlier last week, some of her friends' neighborhood pools opened, so she had already done some swimming for the past week. I think it is crazy chilly, but she says it is fine! We did go to Key West for spring break, and everyone was swimming there in mid-March.

I don't swim and we don't have a pool but my kids swim with the neighbors all the time. I think they started at the end of March and will swim until November. The joys of living in California.

We do not have a pool in our yard, but can't really justify at this point. In Montreal, newbie pool owners open it June 1 but you never see anyone using them......

I think Montreal pool "season" is probably July 15th to August 30th. Most public pools close August 30th right before school starts.

I think I'd rather head to the beach in the fall and return to Montreal in pool season..

oh my word! I spent all weekend sitting out side in 45 degree weather with layers upon layers and winter coats and hats and gloves and a blanket just for good measure. DEFINITELY not in the pool. HOW is this May?!!

Yep, definitely not pool weather. Saturday night we had to move the potted plants into the garage. We ended up with a low of 31 degrees.

Not pool weather yet.
Our complex has a pool, and it's usually open Labor Day to Memorial Day. The same as the local park splash pads.
If we had our own pool, we'd probably keep it open through most of September.

Depending on whether it's a mild winter or not, we have been at the beach in March!

This year, our first trips out there were for my sister's birthday weekend at a beach house . . . and we didn't swim. It's definitely warm enough to enjoy the beach (and has been since March/April, sporadically, because of unusual cold snaps).

I'm hoping to get my back in a better place to be able to walk across the sand this year . . . walking on a surface that moves is not good for the back and leg . . . so that we can enjoy the incredible, whitest beaches!

If we aren't at the beach, we will go to the river and/or to houses of friends that have pools.

I'm ready for the pool. Our neighborhood pool opens on Memorial Day weekend. $250 for a family pass for the summer. And then sometimes we go to the outdoor pool at one of our local YMCA's - it's just a bit of a drive.

We don't have our own pool, but there are some public pool options around here we use sometimes. We also live next to a river that's fun to swim in, and there are other rivers, lakes, and the Chesapeake Bay not too far away. For actual ocean, we'd have to drive 3 hours and haven't done that as a family yet. We've played in water as early as May and as late as October, but June and September can be too cold a lot of times.

May is a crapshoot as far as weather here. It's the last week of school and we've had times when it's 90 degrees this week, but today it's 55 degrees. Our pool is supposed to open on Friday. I was really hoping to use it because I am having a last day of school party for my 9 year old and her girlfriends. At this point, it would be more of a polar bear plunge though!

We'll start heading to the country club or city pool as soon as school is out. Not really warm enough here yet, we actually had a frost last night :(

We have a pool in the backyard that hardly ever gets used. I have to maintain it and it's a pain. If the weather stays warm, I'll get in it this week to vacuum and do some cleaning.
