Where are you going this summer?

Wow Laura!! That is one busy summer! Sounds like fun though. We normally go camping, camping, and more camping, but just mostly short weekend trips. The weekend of the 30th we are camping nearby, then in July we will have 2 weekend trips, then the same in August. Seems like a lot, but really it is lazy days for us because during the school year life is nothing but craziness all the time. Besides vacay, we have swimming lessons and tae kwon do this summer. :)

I'd LOVE to go somewhere like Yellowstone, or Grand Canyon (although I hear tell, if you have to see the West, Yellowstone or Yosemite is the better bet) or Arches, and do some camping with the kids. And I would, but $$ is an issue, as is the condition of my car. Fortunately, the daughter with the travel bug is going to a cabin with some of her friends in Venture Crew this weekend. And then later on, they're going for a week to San Diego to Sea World, the beach, and so on. I'd love to go to SanFran, but again, $$ and car.

We don't have any grand plans. My sister and her family are coming (yay!!) this weekend and part of next week and then the end of July the boys and are going to Illinois to my parents house for a week. DH is working and studying for his Step 2 boards, so he isn't going anywhere! :)

I'm the sister that gets to travel. :)

We're headed to Oklahoma for several days, then on to Dallas for another few days. My hubby and I are hoping to have a quick overnight get-away, but it's not scheduled yet. We're also hoping to go to Illinois for a few days to visit my family.

Sounds like lots of fun plans all around!

My parents were here last week and I took time off so technically that's my "vacation". We're not really going anywhere else this summer as DH is too busy with work gearing up to deploy before summer is over. I will take a couple days off work to stay home and hang out as a family before he leaves.

My kids just got out of school so we are taking this week to just regroup and adjust to our new schedule. We have a whirlwind of a summer planned, so we all need it! My best friend from Tampa is coming up from July 1-10th, we are going to head to DC for the 4th of July and have some really fun day trips planned (I need to get to know this new city I live in...:giggle). After that I am headed to my Mom's house in NY for a few days. We are going to visit with family and spend a couple of days in Manhattan, should be fun! It's been 2 years since I've been there so I'm looking forward to it. Once I get home from there, I pack up and head to Chicago for CHA! WOOT! So excited for that!!! The day I get back from CHA we pack up and head to Florida for 3 weeks at the beach with my best friend and her kids (lots of miles on the Tahoe this summer). Brian will be there for a week and pick up my oldest a week early since he starts football camp on August 4th. We are stopping at Disney for 2 days on the way home and should be back in RVA by the August 16th. I'm not doing anything after that! We will just be gearing up for school, although Brian mentioned a trip to his parents cabin for Labor Day so we may do that, the kids love it there!

we are doing little trips i think... a few trips to grandma & grandpa's house... a few camping trips to state parks nearby. nothing mind blowing, for sure.
i do think hubby and i are going to do a quick trip back to the place where we honeymooned, get a cabin in the woods with a hot tub and forget the world exists for a few days. ;)

yes, yes. if anything comes up with the CHA gals, i'd love to be included too :)
if i can play with the cool kids that is

Kelly is only in town for 1 night and we've made plans already, but Sara and I are there for longer. We're going to get our schedules firmed up next week, so I will post something else for all the Chicago girls. It would be a blast to see all of you!!

I love hearing about everyone's vacation and staycation plans. Yay summer!!! :)

No big plans here for the summer. I need to save my money - especially since I just got a new laptop and I need to move. But I'm hoping to have lots of fun things to do on weekends and hang out with my friends.

I feel exhausted just reading all these plans-- whew!
We're going down to the Cape for a while and then my daughter and I are going to Hawaii to visit my family there for a week. Then we'll just hang out back here in Boston and enjoy all the fun parks and summer events.
