Any travel plans this summer or are you staycationing?

My girls and I left to visit my parents as soon as school was out. It's not really a vacation but it's nice to see them for such a long time. We've been here 3 weeks and we still have a week left. I'm ready to go home though...I miss my DH, my friends and my craft room. LOL However, I know there are going to be lots of tears when we leave, especially from my little one.

We're home long enough to pick up DH and repack then we are all heading out to Yellowstone. It's a change of pace for us as far as family vacations go, but I am looking forward to it.

Then, the day after we get back, I fly to Chicago for CHA. I can't wait to see Kelly, Sara, Carolee and some of my other digi friends. Yay!!!

After CHA, it's only 3 1/2 weeks until school starts for us. Talk about the summer flying by...le sigh.

I thought you were already in Crazytown. In fact, I am sure I saw a sign that said Angie for Mayor when I last visited. It had that pic of you with the frozen hair on it. :giggle

LOL! We spent all our vacation money in May when DH and I went on our anniversary trip, so we're taking a week off in July and doing a staycation. We may do one night in Chi-town and hit the zoo and maybe Legoland, but otherwise we're just going to hit our own beach, and chill out together with no other plans. I'm really looking forward to that!

We went to St. Louis last month for a short weekend trip to see friends.

For the rest of the summer just going to be doing what we can around Chicagoland. Maybe some camping, hopefully the Ren Faire in Bristol, and we've been promising DD a trip to beach (Lake Michigan).

We're not going anywhere in particular this summer. DH and SS are going on a boys' camping trip with DH's brother and his boys next month that they are totally jazzed abt, and I'm going to an outdoor concert in Chicago with a friend that should be fun. Maybe a day trip to a state park... the state fair for DD's bday... that abt wraps up the summer.

We have a four day trip planned to Atlanta this October that will be the big trip of 2012. No one wants to visit Hotlanta in the summer! :giggle

We don't have any grand plans. My sister and her family are coming (yay!!) this weekend and part of next week and then the end of July the boys and are going to Illinois to my parents house for a week. DH is working and studying for his Step 2 boards, so he isn't going anywhere! :)

Laura, I am tired just reading your schedule!!

My parents are coming for 3 weeks, then we are going to Cambodia for 4 days. I cannot wait to see Angkor Wat!!

my kids still have school for two more weeks (!) - but after that i have a trip to niagra, cape cod and the bahamas - and maybe france (LOL - we are really undecided about that !) - plus some family and friends coming to stay with us in boston ...

i'd LOVE to go to CHA since we're only about 45 minutes away

we just got home from a trip to kansas for 4 days, just me and the girlies. we will go visit some friends in wisconsin and probably make a few zoo trips but other than that, no more big plans.

That is so cool!!! I'm jealous! :)

We don't have any travel planned for the summer, other than for work. But DH is coming with me to a conference in San Diego in August, so that will be nice!

We will prob go to Toronto a few times over the summer like we do every year but nothing too fancy, I work alot and don't take time off (it would inconvenience so many parents)

Ooh, some fun plans in this thread :)

We're off to the south of France in August (travelling and staying in our new campervan! - http://instagr.am/p/L7t-X0n-g6/), really, really looking forward to it. Going to spend a few days in Paris seeing the sights as well. Will get a few UK weekends away in too. Definitely hoping to get up to the Lake District for some walking, other than that we're just seeing where the weather will be best, might be chasing a tiny bit of blue sky around the country considering the weather so far this 'summer'.

I wanna go to CHA!!!!!

So far, its been a quick trip to visit my grandmother and spent a great weekend with my Daddy-O on the road trip! This week, I'm in a tech conference....collecting some super awesome goodies!

Now, we're gearing up for our annual camping trip which starts July 4th for a week. Then home for 2 weeks and then off again the last weekend of July for another big rally! August will be packed with mainly weekend trips around the state but it'll be enough to get me away from work and home.

Are you doing any sort of get together when you're here for CHA? Like a dinner or something? Would love to meet y'all!

Oooh sounds like lots of fun things on the horizon!! Yay for staycations and camping and day trips!!

Jude, how awesome is that campervan?! A trip to the South of France sounds so lovely!!

Most of our summer plans are of the staycation variety. But I do get to whisk away (by myself!!) to Chicago for CHA and a visit with my family in mid July. Sooooooooooo looking forward to that.

Those of you going to CHA, I'd love to meet up with you for dinner or something!!!

We aren't going anywhere since we need vacation time to work on the home remodeling, in the fall we'll head to Nashville, we always tag along for Mark's business trip, so it's vacation for us but not for him LOL

We really can't do family vacations anymore. It's hard when kids grow up and are all working.

I'm taking a quick trip up to see my parents in July. It will also be my nieces birthday while I'm there, and I'll get to see my cousin that I went to Europe with when I was in high school...and my other cousin I haven't seen in way too many years. I'm looking forward to it, even though it will be a quick trip.

Rick and I have a vacation planned to Seattle the end of August/early September. We're staying downtown, doing the King Tut Exhibit, Pike Place, Mariner and Husky games, Bumpershoot will be going on...It is a much needed trip after him being home since last December and not knowing if he would be able to do this much walking ever again. He's healing well from his surgery though, and the numbness and tingling in his arms and legs is almost completely gone! I think he's going to do great, and then hopefully he'll be able to return to work again when we get back! I feel guilty taking a trip when he hasn't worked in all these months...but sometimes you've got to just do it.
Other than that...everything will just be little day trips to the beach, San Diego, etc... Our passes for Disneyland are blacked out for the summer months, but I'll be doing that again in September!

Another trip planned to my folks in October too. I'm now trying to do that every three months. Doing it every month was just too hard.

Everyone's trips sound wonderful. I've never been to Yellowstone...I'd love to do that someday.

Wish I were going to CHA!!!

We'll be going to my parents cabin and the zoo, amusement parks, the beach and other local places. We might take a camping trip, but I refuse to go if we don't have nice weather. Since we live in Norway it's not a safe bet saying we'll get enough nice weather to do all of these things :p
