So - somehow I came across a Farmhouse Style FB page and oh my! I'm so hooked right now!! We remodeled the kitchen about 9 years ago and I really haven't ever gotten a true "style" down - but now I have all sort of ideas going around in my noggin! We went to a flea market today and I picked up the coolest scale ... can't wait to find other treasures and make it more farmhouse-like!

What is the decor - style of your home? Please share!

I love the farmhouse style!!!

We don't do a lot of decorating. Our walls are pretty bare, with the exception of blackout curtains and one large print my hubby did with one of his Grand Canyon panoramas; I'd like to have other prints made so we can have a small gallery wall of his work.

I have my insulators in the kitchen window and my vintage Pyrex on top of the kitchen cupboards.

I have a small hutch (just the bottom piece) that I saved a few years ago from a bulk trash pickup that I have in the entry way with some seasonal items and that's it.

My style is definitely eclectic. I tend to like antique items, but I like a little bit of a lot of things, so they all get smushed together.

Here are just a few shots of the living room, dining room, kitchen, and den:

Style??? BWWWAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! When I was in design school and working the industry after school, we called it eclectic. (You know, sounds impressive with the customers!!) Now that I am retired I just call it MISH MASH!!!!!! But if money were no object, I would decorate rugged country----whatever that is?? Living up here where I do; everything is rugged country!! I got a start though!! I bought a bear towel holder for the bathroom!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!!!

My style is best described as "Young Children Live Here," which entails very few expensive/breakable things, messy floors, and easy-clean fabrics that hide stains well.

I like the airy feeling, comfort level, and colors of a beach style. Not lake or cottage, but ocean-coastal beach. My dad got me a subscription to Coastal Living and I love just looking at all the pretty pictures! I like a more minimalist look but I don't like bare walls. Right now I've got about 8 frames to fill and hang. I actually bought 5 yesterday! Last weekend I hung up a mirror, a porthole I turned into a mirror, and like 3 frames (all old frames/pics from our old house that I still hadn't hung up here). Anyway, the kids are getting older and so I'm hoping to make our home look less like a large play room and more like a home where adults live--or rather, a home where a family lives (but the kids stuff is more contained!). Mostly I want things that are beautiful to look at but also functional. I couldn't handle an ugly couch but I also couldn't handle a gorgeous sofa that feels like a torture device. So when we bought new sofas this year, we got 80"-long ones that are almost as deep as a twin mattress so that we can all sit together on one, or at night DH and I can each stretch out on one and relax. Oh, and IMHO they look good, too. :)

Hmmm...our house is a mix. It has bits of farmhouse, mountain, coastal going on (coastal mainly because of all the windows and wrap around porch I guess). The kitchen & master bathroom is probably more farmhouse. The colors on the outside are more mountainy. My decorating style inside is probably more eclectic.

If I could afford to decorate anyway I wanted most of my kids' rooms would be decorated with Land of Nod items.
My house would be decorated with Pottery Barn, World Market, Restoration Hardware.... Just to give a feel for what I like.

Can I brag on my brother?!? He just built a GORGEOUS farmhouse.
I hope this is okay. Search #forknerfarmhouse on instagram to take a look.
Seriously gorgeous if you like the farmhouse look. I want him to build me that house...even though he already built me a house.

Bwhaha- i think our style is similar but i call it Ikea Style or Why We Cant Have Nice Things - it's fairly cheap and looks mix and matched (what i formally call 'eclectic' ) and came flatpacked and is not perfect. Last wkend, the kids managed to break one of the door shelves in the fridge we got at the end of last year - a fridge! i thought they were indestructible - the milk and door stuff now lives in the garage back-up fridge that i had from my Uni days, which is comparatively unscathed as it's spent most of it's life in the garage, away from the kids)

I guess it's modern eclectic? With a bit of a Scandinavian vibe.
I'm all for bold colours and patterns mixed with neutrals. Wide open feeling spaces but also plenty of decoration. I like the weird, colourful, quirky things for decoration mixed with clean lines and neutral colours.

Actually very similar to my scrap style.

Early on I was "country"(back in the 80's) then eclectic international due to our family's emphasis on other cultures. Now I adore color, and use bright bits of it, but my style is much more modern and clean. My favorite things or "clutter collection" as husband calls it stays in the studio- which is just fine with hubster! lol.

@gonewiththewind - Cheryl, your house is gorgeous! And so clean!!!

Mine is what I call "whatever". 95% of the furniture in our house is hand-me-downs from family or friends, so it's an eclectic mix. Some is newer, some family heirlooms. The funny thing is that it all works together! My in-laws recently downsized two houses so we acquired many beautiful pieces. It makes my house look amazing! Woohoo! Most of our money goes directly to DD's skating so we don't have a lot of $$ for decor, so I'm thankful it all works for us.

My favorite style of furniture is Mission - clean, simple, and solid wood (love natural wood and browns and greens). Yes, I am tree hugger too. So that style is dominate (but I also have some Asian and country thrown in). I like a clean, no clutter look but my family tends to clutter. I keep the knick knacks to a minimum as I hate to dust around them. Downstairs I have 2 brown rooms, 3 green rooms, and a green/cream entryway. Upstairs, I have my lavender/blue bedroom, boring cream hallway, and the kids have their own colors in their bedrooms. I have lots of plants in all the rooms downstairs.

I think they call our style "transitional" -- classic but with a contemporary twist. At least we like to thinks so. :D

My living room taken from the dinning room (that shine in the foreground is the table). The lamps are Tiffany style.

My kitchen window complete with dirty dishes. It is still stuck in the late 90's - everything white mode with green countertops.
