Once when my husband was on a year long deployment, his R&R was scheduled for late January. I left the Christmas tree up until February so we could have a belated holiday with him!

Traditionally, in Greece we take down the Xmas decorations a few days after Epiphany (Jan. 6).
When my brother was 4 or 5, he wanted us to keep the tree (not the other decorations, thankfully) until February 28. It was almost Easter!

One year it was like 1/5 or 1/6 only because we were travelling. Normally it’s down the day after Christmas.

The later it goes up, the later it comes down. Our house, our rules no matter what other people say it should be.
Australia day is Jan 26 & there have been years it's still up then.and I don't feel bad about that if there's space for it in the first place(some years renovations & moving furniture have really made it hard to live with & work around)).
DS's bday is Dec 28 so by Dec 27 it has some of its Xmas decorations swapped out for a party hat & streamers & balloons to be a bday tree & what motivates me to pull it down most is being done with vacuuming up fake pine needles and it just depends on when I get to that point.
