Mine IS clean right now because I had to move my 'desk' aka an Ikea dining room table (29"x53") so the the window a/c could come out for the winter. The star of this desk is my 27" 2011 iMac - just like Michelle's! - & when our friend came to help Dick by carrying the a/c unit to the cellar, I said I moved the table to protect the computer. I reminded him that this one is living on borrowed time having recently replaced the graphics card to buy some more time with it. This iMac still has a CD/DVD slot which makes me very happy. cf below
from left to right I have my Canon printer which has a short connector cord (imho) so that it cannot go as far away as I'd like. It really should be on my right but that's a move for next week. Right now it has 3 CD binders of digi supplies from 2010-2013 on top of it. Keep or trash, keep or trash...I did find a couple of things yesterday that somehow got pitched from my EHDs. So...it's still keep or trash. I also have three books there for reference for a course I'm facilitating.
I have two sets of Thai Hilltribe coasters for my tea, coffee or water - one to my left and one to my right. Friday, so it's the Michaels $1 'rest a minute' mug filled with English tea. Center is a timer I don't use any more so that's a giveaway, my JinShinJyutsu wooden hand, a stone with insh'allah carved into it reminding me all is in god's hands, a US senate dish holding post it notes, a card saying 'Exploration' from a retreat, a Christmas notepad, two black pens and one red felt tip, the holy trinity of EHDs - all plugged in, a bottle of Jo Malone English Oak and Redcurrent cologne - a treat myself gift last month and having it there reminds me to use it daily!, a Stueben glass duck ashtray of my mother's holding Burts Bees chapstick & cuticle cream and a few coins. There's also a small pile of receipts and coupons - probably trash by now. My wireless keyboard and wireless mouse with green nail polish on it from the days of our arguing about whose mouse was whose!
My phone is often on a red Ikea metal cabinet, to the right of the table, charging when I'm here, and to the left of me is a 36" square table holding bins of papers, photos that need clearing out. I get a lot of this stuff done in the winter.
And yes, that is one of my old monthly DVDs of supplies ejected from the iMac. I used to limit myself to buying only 4GB because those DVDs just held 4.7GB of stuff. That was a wise idea...
