What do you call carbonated beverages?

Okay, we had a fun little debate in the Holiday Open House chat tonight. What do you call the carbonated beverages that you drink? I have always called it Pop. But I know it's totally regional and some people call it Soda and some people call it Coke, even if they're drinking Pepsi. Lol. So take the poll... what do you call it?
 
I call it soda now but growing up everything was coke.


Actual conversation from my childhood-
"I'd like a coke."
"What kind of coke?"
"A Dr. Pepper coke, please."

Really? Ha ha! That is so weird. Lol!
 
We've always called it pop, but recently, I've been saying Cokes... because when we order, one is always a Coke.
 
Pop! I always thought this was a Canadian thing, but I'm starting to think that maybe it's a midwestern North American thing!
 
I grew up saying "soft drink", though I did say "pop" when I lived in Minnesota. I don't really have a need to say it in English much anymore, and I don't know what I'd say. I guess it depends on the audience.
 
I generally say which ever drink it is - so diet coke or diet lemonade for me
 
Soda gal if in general terms. If we are ordering, we say what we order - Diet Coke, Coke, Root Beer, etc. If they don't have Coke, most places ask if Pepsi is ok, lol!?
 
growing up it was POP, I'm from the midwest, now it's soda here on the west coast...but I definately prefer Coke and hate it when the waiiter replys "is Pepsi ok?" Are they kidding!!!!!!!!!!
 
I'm opposite and like Pepsi better, :giggle ... when that happens, do you change your mind and order a different soda?
 
When we are out to eat and my Hubby orders a Diet Coke and they ask if Pepsi is okay... he asks if Monopoly money is okay. :giggle

I forgot about soft drink. And I never heard of Fizzy drink before. I love that. Maybe I'll pretend to be British and say that from now on. Lol!
 
soft drink or lemonade ( for sprite , seven up and the like ) so mine was other too ..
 
Everything is Coke to me. I like diet dr. Pepper best but I still call it, "drinking a Coke."
