I have a small purse for when I want to carry "just my keys and my phone". That has keys, phone, my most used credit cards, checkbook, pen, drive thru gift cards, and spending money. It evolves. LOL
That purse fits into my "real" purse, and that one has a bit more:
* wallet with "back up" cash and rarely used department store cards;
* store gift cards and coupons;
* prescription glasses (in case something happens to my contact lenses);
* 2 reusable shopping bags;
* small bag with lipstick, pressed powder and hair clip;
* small bag with my medicine and a bottle of Claritin
* hand lotion, nail files and pony tail holders;
* "Mommy Cards" -- they have my name, my kids' names, my cell phone and my email on them. As the kids get older, I don't use them as much, but I ordered 500 cards for $8 and will probably never use them up.
* external battery charger w/6" iPhone cable
If I'm completely honest with you, I have a third purse that I carry back and forth between the house and whatever car I'm in -- it is more like a tote bag than a purse, but it has handy outside pockets big enough for my phone, so I was going to use it as a purse. However, I acquired a different purse, and this one has what I consider "overflow" -- store loyalty cards, envelopes, baby wipes, a hair brush, an umbrella, tissues, slippers, and other stuff that is nice to have but I don't want to carry it with me everywhere I go.
It came about because my husband bought me a handbag (well, two of the same in different colors) that "was on sale and you like bags." I thought it was awfully nice of him to think of me and it happens to be just the type I'd pick for myself. (He said several times that I don't have to use it if I don't like it, but I can't remember the last time he impulsively bought me something that doesn't need electricity to use and so I'm using it!)
