What's for Dinner?

I'm so horribly out of ideas and sick of everything. Help! What are you having for dinner tonight?

well, 2 nights ago, we made a turkey... yup, like Thanksgiving :giggle so last night we had turkey sandwiches because it was fast and easy, and we had about 2 hundred things going on.

I DO have my menu made for the rest of the week, though...it looks like this:

- baked white fish and long grain wild rice
- lasagna
- grilled chicken breast strips over spinach salad w/ breadsticks
- crunchy tacos (meat in the crock pot and veggies prepped ahead... i'm working a concert this friday, so i have to have dinner done before i leave)
- blt pizza (i use bacon bits & spinach, sliced fresh tomatoes, and whatever other veggies... usually onions & peppers and such... mmmmm)
- grilled chicken wings or bone-in chicken pieces, haven't decided for sure on that... and grilled veggies and wilted lettuce.

actually, i have a menu laid out for the entire month of September... my problem with menu planning is that I do it, and then I change my mind or get lazy when it comes to actually MAKING what i've planned... i think i'm going to revisit the idea of FREEZER MEALS and MAKE-AHEAD... maybe the 1st or 2nd weekend in September trying to prep quite a few of the things so that I have a better chance of success. we'll see how it goes.

:rofl

not that you asked for ANY of that stuff that i just said... but it's been on my mind this morning, so you got it whether you wanted it or not!!

Okay, now I'm officially in awe of Rebecca. Let's just say on Sunday at the grocery store I couldn't commit to meals past Wednesday night.

I always love your meal ideas, Rebecca. I'm a meal planner too. I find it saves me so much time and aggravation.

Tonight: Cranberry dijon pork roast with fingerling potatoes
Tomorrow: Mexican meat loaf
Thursday: Salmon and risotto
Friday: date night!

I just finished putting this together today actually, so I figured I'd share... This goes up on the fridge so the kids all know what to expect. I use the food icons as a visual, sort of for my planning so I don't have a ton of pasta lumped all together or whatever.

(I used lots of TLP goodies... I linked it so you can see credits)

I unimaginatarily put a roast in the crockpot. Oh well. At least we'll eat.

IDK why unimaginatarily has a red line under it. Surely that's a correctly spelled word. Hmm.

yes angie, i'm pretty sure unimaginatarily MUST be a word in some language.

:notworthy :notworthy :notworthy :notworthy Seriously, Rebecca - that's awsome!

Um, Rebecca... can we please live with you? That. Is. In. Sane. I am SO friggin' impressed.

Salmon, salad, brown rice here.

This week's menu...
Monday - Pot roast, brown rice, squash & onions and biscuits
Tuesday - dinner meeting at a restaurant...so no cooking
Wednesday - Ham and Beans in the crockpot with Cornbread
Thursday - Pineapple Chicken, rice pilaf and grilled cabbage

I don't ever cook Friday - Sunday...which is why I'm fluffy :) Too much eating out.

ha!! you guys crack me up! i'm no hero, certainly, but thanks for puffing me up for a second! ;)
seriously, if i ever actually get through a month where i've STUCK TO the **** menu, it would be a friggin miracle! i plan, but then i rebel against my own plans and so something else random instead. :shrug it's what i do...can't be fixed. but i keep trying.

yay tracy for not having to cook!! i wish we had an eat out fri-sun plan! i like that idea!!

oh, and sebastian looked at the menu on the fridge and said, "we sure do eat a lot of chicken. i think you need to put more pizzas up there." :rofl apparently, he's not hip with the plan
