I have been scrapbooking with a friend at her little lake cottage all weekend. We are away from our families and have been in our jammies all weekend too. While I've been gone, my hubby has been cleaning the house to get ready to host for Thanksgiving. I think I planned this weekend away very well!
My wkend has been busy with Xmas shopping, going to the dog park and binging the last few episodes of The Walking Dead and Talking Dead, so I am ready for the finale tonight. It'll be an all evening thing b/c there is a pre-show, the finale and then an extended Talking Dead afterwards. I hate to see the show end but tonight will be fun to see and I know they have other TWD universe stuff coming out next year. I'm going to scrap this morning and read some of my book "The Perfect Couple". I'm getting close to the end of it.
My neighbor is still dealing with long Covid 2 years after having it. And, she wasn't sick enough to go into the hospital at that time. It just really screwed up lots of things for her. Before getting it she was a very healthy, not overweight 55 year old woman who ran 3 to 5 miles a day. She was put into a study at Cleveland Clinic for Covid long haulers after the local doctors couldn't figure out what all was going on (she was seeing 5 different specialists). The study did help get her back on her feet. But recently she started having major problems again and CC referred her to a different set of doctors doing a more intense study in Columbus (which is 1.5 hours closer to us). At her first appointment, they drew lots of blood and did other tests to determine which direction they would go with her as to the doctors she would be dealing with. She is functioning but gets really tired easily and has had to give up working for the time being. Her husband (he does yard work for me) says that she naps every day again. COVID is no joke.
My husband came back to our place in Michigan from India on Friday and today we drove back home to Chicago. So not a lot going on here.
We have about the least stressful Thanksgivings ever. My in-laws live nearby in an independent living complex, so we're going over there. They just recently opened their dining room back up to visitors which means for the first time in three years we'll all be together (last year they came over to our house). No reservations to be made, a large menu to choose from, and afterwards we just walk upstairs to their apartment to play games. It's a win-win for everyone.
