What would you do money question ...

Yeah I wouldn't go back either especially because it had been so long. This happens to me sometimes too, and I hate it. Our walmart in particular stinks - it seems like the cashiers are more concerned with chatting than doing their job, and 95% of the time I have kids with me and can't really focus on every item being scanned. I had one time that she didn't even ring up my 24 pack of coke, but I got charged twice for a clearance shirt. We lived 30 minutes away and there was no way I was going back - it ended up I got jipped $2 after I figured in the pop they didn't charge me for. And plenty of times I have gotten home and found bad produce or a bag of yucky liquidy cheese. I almost never take it back because it seems like for the drive time and the cost of gas, I am not getting a better deal by driving back for a return. However, I will call them and tell them if they have rotten or expired food.
