discovering during Month of Challenges?

I always love how I discover what all the designers have created! There is so much in the store that I can't possibly know all of what's there. But when I see the amazing layouts created with so many different products, I always discover new things and styles that I have to go try! For example, I just "discovered" Rebecca McMeen and all her gorgeous creations!

What about you? What's one thing you love discovering during MOC?

So true! I always add, and add and ADD to my wishlist during MOC!

I think I'm always in awe at all the different takes on the same challenge. I'm not a power scrapper (#of pages I can create)- but MOC really gets the creative juicies flowing with the unique challenges designed especially for this event - it's a sprinkle of "something for everyone" ... and I really just love seeing all the creativity of how those challenges come together from the members of the community! The pages are just simply amazing!

I definitely have added a lot to my wish list - there are so many great things in the store, and you're right seeing them on pages really just draws you in.

I have really loved the new techniques that are not something I would have normally tried, today's for example, the extreme shadows - I always admire them when they are done but have never really stopped to learn or think about how they are done. I really do think I love it and can see so many fun ways.

I also am really loving the complimentary color challenge and how it helped me better understand how to use the color wheel in photoshop (not just the selector but making groups for the library) and how I learned to recolor objects for that challenge and still have the texture/shadows on them.

I know! I love all the new things I learn about a program I thought I knew so well! LOL! Just goes to show that there's always something more to learn!

I'm a designer here (and a scrapper, too) and it always amazes me the products that I miss from week to week. I love viewing layouts and then finding fabulous products to buy and/or wish list.

I always learn something during MOC. Most of the time it's a technique I learn, but it's other types of scrapping - from minimal to art journal to no photos - that make me really examine how I'm scrapping. The journaling challenges push me out of my normal rut of just dating the layout and putting the names of the people who are in the photos. Most of the time I do write a little blurb about where we were and why . . . but the journaling challenges help me create much more meaningful layouts that I think my children will enjoy reading for years to come.

For me, I take a lot of joy and inspiration by seeing all the diverse creativity in the gallery! It always surprises me how different all the pages look, how many creative ideas come out of the challenges.

I learned a lot from the complementary colors challenge. Will be using that Adobe tool again!

I also learned something from the Paper and Paint challenge: how to narrow in on your photo, and make it work, without the embellishments that you might normally use...

More broadly, the challenges are just very freeing. You think you need to adorn and embellish your page in some complex and creative way; but here's a challenge to keep it 'clean and simple.' You think you need to get on board with the minimalist look; but here's a challenge to 'fill it up to the brim'... There's no one right way to do things, there are so many possibilities...The MOC requires that you play around a little bit, and it's just really fun to play.

For me I love seeing the gallery so full of inspiration. ... I also love learning new techniques and challenging my skills by doing things I dont normally do in my scrapping. I also adore how supportive the community is to each other during this time and all the new faces that pop up to join in on the fun

I confess that sometimes I'll see a challenge and roll my eyes and think, "What am I going to do with a page like that?"... and then sheepishly admit to myself that it turned out pretty cool, after all, once the page is done. :giggle

I do add to my wishlist during MOC, so many "new to me" things to see and buy and play with.
Often times it's a new technique or something I would have never tried without a challenge- this MOC's deep shadows is a case in point. But the pleasure of getting it done and loving the result is a wonderful feeling.

I enjoy discovering I am capable of creating pages in styles I normally do not do and it comes out looking okay - not great but still okay.

The one thing about MOC that is not a positive thing..... my digi spending budget is blown sky high!

agree, some of my fave layouts have been the ones that have been a real challenge

couldn’t agree more.

I love perusing the gallery and see everyone's take on the daily challenge. It is so fun to play along. I love make the pages myself and getting to know everyone more. The kits people use are inspiring and I am like Jenn.. wish list is getting filled up! Beautiful moments scrapped and learning along the way!

I love the variety of layouts made from the same challenge, it’s crazy how much talent and artistry that are gathered here at The Lilypad!

I too love seeing how different layouts can look doing the same challenge! So much talent here!

and every MOC I love seeing what Anne @AnneofAlamo comes up with for her challenge. She always knocks it outta the ballpark!
