What if.......?

pay for phyiscal/occopational thepty, have someone clean up my hose my way. paysome to orgabise my puter.

It's crazy that $500k will barely buy a house in this area! :cry
Sounds like my area too. I mean, $500K builds a nice house but not a mansion or something lol. :) It's very different from where I grew up. #stickershock

Anyway, having said that: I'd take the 500K and pay off our home. We bought it a few years ago so yeah, not much would be left over after we pay off that mortgage! With the little bit left we'd pay off my car and our little credit card debt, and put the rest toward the remodel project I want to do (adding floor space in our family room instead of having a 2-story room).
I'd really love to use the $ to travel, but I can use our now-unneeded mortgage payment to pay for a trip. :) I'd love to donate some as well. Anonymously, because I don't want them thinking i can donate like that all the time!

Oh boy! That would be fun! I'd pay off my house and set up funds for the boy's college. I'd offer my parents money, but they wouldn't take it probably. I'd give some to my church and then I'd have one fantastic shopping trip at Michaels! Oh and shoes! I'd buy lots of shoes. and purses! Lol! :) In truth, I probably wouldn't even know where to start... you know after Michaels. :giggle

Buy a house.
Book a round the world cruise.
Finish the renovations that need to be done.
Visit my Lilypad friends.

pay off any CC debt
redo our deck
buy both teens a new car
get my hubby his dream sports car
plan a month long family oversees vacation for early summer 2017
put any LO $$$ in a safe investment for the kid's college tuitions.

that was fun to dream about! :)

Lots of great ideas so far!
- tithe on it to church and various missionaries
- pay off the house
- take the kids on a trip overseas to the UK
- visit Australia and New Zealand
- and save the rest so hubby can retire
- and 2 new cars would be nice

First thing, get to the bank to pay off our mortgage and credit bills. Then zip across the street to the travel agent to book a much longed for cruise to the Panama Canal and also a safari in Africa. The kids can have what's left :)

$500K doesn't buy a house around here either, so I'd give our daughter a good downpayment for a house, pay off the rest of her student loan and get her a decent vehicle. I'd also buy the lot next door to our cabin to give us more privacy and hopefully take a family vacation somewhere warm.

On the presumption that i could buy a piece of property in 24 hours, I think I'd buy a flat in Yorkshire. My first thought was a waterfront place here and no, $500k wouldn't do it and I don't want house debt.

I would put the money towards a house. There's nothing under a half million in the Bay Area, so it would all be spent.

Go to London and stop by a pub and chat with the charming Mrs Peel.

Pay off our debt (house and cars), purchase prepaid college for Daniel, pay off Olivia's loans, then pay off family's debt, as much as we could.

1. debt - cars & home
2. buy my hubby his dream car, which is about $200,000 - because when else would I ever be able to get this for him?
3. college for my kiddos
4. a trip to various places in Europe

Pretty sure that would polish it off completely! :giggle

I would go through that $500,000 so quickly. Let's pretend that that is after taxes, too.

I would pay off all of our debts, put money in savings, invest some, put an offer in on a house, replace our old car, book a trip to Disney World for our family, donate to the youth ministry I serve on the board of, and book a gurls' weekend for the bestie & me.

That would just abt cover it. I bet I could do all that in 12 hours. :giggle

another thing, pay for a raid drive, see if Lily tech would copy store over for me, pay the store for inventory and tech guy kindly for his service.
