you are given £500000 USA $ 500000 - half a million- (adapt to your country's currency....)
not too much but also not too little....
You have 24 hours to spend it-
Whatever you have not spent, it will be taken of you when the 24 hours are gone....what do you do? How would you spend it?

Pay off all Debt including home, and my children's Collage loans. Family Vacation.

Top up the kids' education funds, pay off the house, pay off my sisters' houses, buy 2 new cars, and book a family vacation.

Pay off my house, my mom's house, and my daughter's house, and buy my son a small house. Then book an all inclusive vacation for all of us to celebrate!

Pay off the house and the one car left with payments. Then take a wonderful family vacation! I won't forget to do a little shopping, and save a bunch too!

I would buy as much land far, far away from civilization (but still in the US) as that $500K would purchase.

I'd have to figure out about power and water and a house later. :)

we'd own the house outright and get the other bathroom redone (professionally, instead of DIYing like we're doing now) -anything left over would probably go to various charities/research
but i'll be daydreaming about this all now ....

oh and about 2 wks ago, i would have had a spending spree in the store (my wish list is still pretty huge)!

Pay off house, buy a truck, camping trailer, and land in Idaho. A little fun shopping for the fam (clothes and digi scrap stuff for me!), a vacation to Disneyland ASAP, and the rest to extended family in need. Did I spend it all? I'm not counting ;)

1. tithe and offering to my church post haste!
and pay off our church building
and then
2. pay off our house
3. buy cd's or some kind of investment (I play it safe)
4. lol, landscape front yard
5. new computers for all
6. new carpet
and
maybe a couple new cars...in cash.

Pay off all debt.
Complete some home repair, maintenance, and decorating that has been on hold for years.
Rent (or maybe buy; I haven't researched to know) an RV and all the supplies and whatever else we'd need to take a very long trip across the country including visits to my sister in Texas and my parents and brother in southern California.
If that doesn't use it up, then computers and mobile devices and a maybe even a new t.v.

Are you picking a random reply to win what we list? ;)

Vacation!! Somewhere warm with white sandy beaches and tropical drinks!!

I can see most of us long for the rest and get away!!!!!!

if you find land near enough from a river (which we are having as a given that isn't polluted as is far away) you wouldn't have any problems with water, I could be your consultant for the how to get everything going, I ll come to visit you on a Dart Vader (spelling? LOL) costume:giggle

OHHHHHHHHHH :rofl:rofl:rofl you REALLY made laugh so loud I think the neighbor just woke up LOL is almost 2 am here!!!!!!

I asked because of a conversation I started this afternoon at the ENT clinic when looking at a Home & Garden magazine (I had forgotten my Kindle) I spoke out loud about how I couldn't believe a person would spend £15000 on a kitchen island (a unit for the middle of the kitchen) and everyone got talking, long story...
but if I ever win the lottery...at least I will make sure I fund a Lilypad travel agent, which would mean we could all meet somewhere in the world at least once a year, my fund will pay !!!!!!

1. Give 1/4 to my parents.
2. Pay up whatever debts.
3. Buy a studio
4. Go to Amazon and purchase all the art supplies without worrying about shipping cost.
5. 1/4 goes to charity.
6. Buy air tickets to the US, Europe, Australia ... basically all around the world.

Buy a house at the beach for when we retire....hubby may want to retire to the mountains so he might be screwed. I'm going beachfront! Haha!

Sorry...I read this as $50,000...missed the half a million. I would still take the vacation but I would also pay off my house and vehicles as well as my kids college loans. :)

It's crazy that $500k will barely buy a house in this area! :cry

So I'd make a nice down payment, give at least 10% to church and charities, help my parents pay off their house, go visit my Lola in the Philippines, get a little RV to go around the US with my hubby, and then save the rest.

Pay off debt, and the 2 car payments we have
Help my sister, mom, and hubby's parents with some things.
If donating is allowed, donate to local food bank and shelters.
If putting some aside is allowed, put some aside for kids for college (if they want to go).
Shopping spree of course!
Hubby and my 16 year old son want a 3D Printer. The one they want is like $4000.00

Ummmm...that's all I can think of, but I'm sure that list would wipe it out.
