What do you do while you wait for downloads?

  • Start a new page (I can deal with having several layouts on the go at one time)

  • Walk away from the computer - Clean/Eat/Do real life stuff

  • Stare at the download bar and use mind tricks to hurry it up

  • Browse & comment in the gallery and threads

  • Something else - you'll have to exlain, i can't think of any other options exisiting right now

Same here I can extract and file the last download in about the same time as the next download takes. EXCEPT when Netflix is on then it slows WAY down which I keep forgetting to call the internet company to fix.

I recently replaced my wifi card and we just got Cox fiberoptic cable so my downloads are instantaneous now. It's awesome!

My downloads are pretty quick as well. I start a few and by the time I'm done clicking them, the first ones are done.

My internet is pretty quick. Like others, doesn't take more than aminute

I have pretty fast internet but I don't just sit and wait for downloads anyway. I read something in the forum or on Facebook or an email or get a snack or check my calendar or talk to a family member or whatever strikes me at the moment!

It doesn't take long for downloads but I do sometimes pop into the forum or gallery for a minute while waiting. I often have netflix or something streaming so watch that too.

Um, apparently I have super fast internet? My computer is hard wired, so I can download a kit in 1 minute or less. Usually, it goes like this:
Checkout, go to the links page. Click the links to download. Open Downloads folder. Count folder vs links to make sure I got them all. Unzip. There's no time to do anything else!

PS: I did customer service for internet in Australia last year. I feel so bad for your speed! It's so slow compared to ours. :shakehead

I also don't have to wait long for a download, the file is in within the minute or less and if it takes longer, I check Facebook in the meanwhile or mails.

Mine doesn't take long but I can only have 4 files going at once or they will fail. So while I wait prepare a credits file. In each kit folder I create a text file with the product name, designer name and store link, all saved with the html code ready for me to copy and paste for my credits. It's easy to grab all the links I need while the store page is still open and the kit is downloading. Then when I scrap in photoshop I copy the credits link from my text file and save it into file info for my page so it's all there to copy when I upload. Old CT habits :) I used to include preview image links and a blurb about the kit in my text files too for easy enabling.

I blink once or twice. And then I unzip. *giggle*
We have fast Internet and my new laptop definitely works fast too, so stuff gets downloaded quickly. If something takes more than 20 seconds, then either something's wrong or I'm downloading an HD movie instead of DS stuff lol.
Having said that, I do get nervous when a DS file is over 100MB; that used to be the size that'd take forever to download and would usually get corrupted in the process, or sometimes it would just stop downloading for some reason. I'm glad that my tech has caught up with the file sizes.

Usually I browse, but sometimes I get started editing photos or putting the basics of the layout together.

Usually when something is download, I'm doing something else--whether it's uploading a layout, commenting on something, checking out Facebook, or doing something offline with the kids. I am always doing something when I download. I'm also guilty of downloading and never unzipping until months, sometimes years later! So yeah, I'm guilty of downloading and forgetting! :D I am getting better though. For the most part, once a month, I unzip everything and organize my folders. But for a few years there I was finding zips from years prior!

Blink, I guess we have fast download here compared to other areas.

:giggle... yes. By the time I've clicked on all the DL links and headed over to the downloads folder, it's all downloaded and extracted.

It's automatic to extract for Mac... is this not true for Windows too?
