There's a difference between which colors I most like to scrap with and which ones I most often scrap with. I have 2 boys and an anti-pink girl, so I relish my rare opportunity to scrap with pink. I also love using dark red and plum but don't get to scrap with them often. I use a lot of blues, purples, neutrals (black, kraft, wood browns, and gray), and greens (in nature kits).

Yeah, I can imagine there were a lot of unhappy girls! I love orange, but not for a graduation robe!

For scrapping I'm an equal color opportunist. I don't have any that I can truly say I don't want to use or put on a page. Although I'm a rule follower in life, with my creativity I am a BIG REBEL and rule breaker ...
so I'll use pink on boy pages...Halloween colors with color photos *GASP* and any rule you can think of...most likely I will break it with my art or writings. I feel that creativity is the one place I can truly let myself loose so I tend to take that freedom

    I love that you're a rule breaker!! :beat:beat:beat:beat

You had me curious, so I just checked my TLP gallery ... seven out of the last nine pages feature at least one of my boys/husband with some pink representation. In most cases I tried not to use too much pink!! lol I definitely think pink appears in scrap products more than it does IRL.

I totally want to embrace using photos with a red/blue/green/etc costume colors with Halloween kits, but I just haven't gotten there yet!! For me, it might actually be more about not being drawn to themed kits. I probably drive designers nuts because I go off theme so often!! Sometimes I will grab just two colors out of a kit or will go completely rogue on the product theme.

Don’t necessarily have a favourite colour I scrap with but if I look at what I use a lot of it would be blue, red, pink, white, black, green.

As far as colours I don’t use a lot of….yellow, orange, brown & grey which doesn’t surprise me in the slightest as I don’t tend to use or wear them in real life anyway. I tend to stick to bright, bold, jewel tones with black/white accents.

@SeattleSheri I probably drive designers mad for the same reason, I’m usually stretching kits far beyond any intended themes!

On the other hand, I think you show that the kit is versatile & can be used for more than what it's intended for.

You are right about the amount of pink in kits. One designer I love has so much pink that I don't even buy their kits anymore. If it has pink, I don't even look at it. When I scroll through the previews of their kits on my computer all I see is pink. :eek I don't need anymore!

As for off theme, that is great that you do that since it shows the versatility of the kit. A couple of my favorite layouts were an exercise themed kit used for wedding layouts. The kit colors were perfect for the wedding but the wedding kits I had weren't although I was able to use a few of the elements from the wedding kits on the layout since they were more neutral.

YEP, I tend to avoid these, unless I pick just ONE primary color for pop and everything else is neutral.

I'm not a fan of purple - but it's growing on me since it's used in so many kits. I like black and use it on most of my pages. I love black, white and pops of oranges and reds. I guess I'd say my favorites are the bolder hues.

I always gravitate towards brighter happy colors, so I usually like summer and spring type kits best. I don't love fall colors, and only use those on fall pages, which I don't create very many of.

I often wonder if I like the summer/spring kit colors because I like summer and spring seasons better or if that's just a coincidence. :giggle

Yeah I don't tend to use themed kits "on theme" either....rofl....I usually don't even have photos for the theme. I love your pages and I know you don't follow all of the rules either. ;)

I dislike pink. So when I look at a kit I see how much pink there is. Too much and I move on by.
Ditto for dusty, muted, greyish colors -- give me bright!

So yeah, pink and grey are my least favorite colors. Otherwise, I chose kit colors that match the dominant color of the photos. Although, all that said I will use pink for pages that are not about me - if that is what the pictures call for. Like how could you scrap this photo without pink?

The short of it for me is I'll go through phases but anything goes really - like some of the others mentioned the Halloween combo is probably my biggest challenge as a CTM though b/c we don't do Halloween either

I just went looking through my gallery and I use a lot of neutrals. It would appear that grey and teal are my favourite combination but I do scrap a lot of winter photos! I love pops of colour so I'll often toss a bit of red or orange in there. Honestly, my favourite colour is purple but I find purple very hard to scrap with...though I'm not sure why.

I like an orange-and-black palette for Halloween, but otherwise stay away from orange. I also avoid purple.

I love soft blues and greens and blue-greens, and also muted pastels. I am not so much drawn to deep jewel tones, nor to bright primary colours.
