I'm curious what colors people gravitate to or avoid when they buy products to scrap with ... and if you're wiling to share, why.

I don't enjoy the orange/black halloween colour schemes. We don't celebrate it and the colour combination doesn't work for me at all. I love the orange/teal combnation though. In my heart pinks, blues and purples are always right up there, neutrals are also perennial.

I like most colors but tend to use a lot of green/blue/pink. I love purple and am always happy to see that in a kit. I seldom use much yellow or orange but a bit as an accent is ok.

I love pink, all pinks, but Barbie Pink is my favorite. I know some scrappers just avoid pink because it's too girlish. I am the opposite. If the kit is a mix of brown, green, and blue, then it's probably a boyish kit, so I won't even look at it.
IRL life I don't like brown and green, but if there is a wooden background paper in the kit, I will use it for sure. And I'd rather use foliage in a real shade of green, rather than a recolored element that's too teal in order to match the palette.

My favorites are blue & green, but I've noticed lately I do scrap a lot of pink too. Since I've been on CTs, I've learned to scrap with whatever falls in my lap. LOL

But, if thinking of what I most likely wouldn't buy, I'd say neutral colors. I want colors to explode off my pages.

I avoid pink being the main color on my page. I am not a fan of the color at all especially very bright pink colors. I don't mind more muted pink colors. But if a kit has a focus on pink I won't even look at it even if it might be a theme I need. I have enough pink already.

I tend to use a lot of blue, teal, green especially the lighter shades for background colors. I've been more drawn lately to more muted colors especially in the browns/greens/blues. I've been scrapping a lot of outdoor/nature/hiking/beach photos for my cousin and those colors bring out the gorgeousness of their photos. For the crazy, fun photos of the grandkids, I go for more bright colors like red/yellow/orange.

I guess you could say I use just about everything except pink. I use a plain background color 99% of the time and if a kit has a plaid paper, it will be on the layout in some way. I use more papers on my layouts because I love Liz's templates with lots of layers of papers.

I would love a kit with purple, red and black as the main colors since those are my favorite colors to wear!

I love all the colors! I also love a good neutral kit or a darker themed kit. I'm not a huge fan of orange, but I do love to have it as an accent color.

I'm not a fan of pink and I find although I like purple as a colour, I find it hard to scrap with. Something about how it doesn't really go with most skin tones. I'm also not a fan of the typical Halloween palette of black, orange, and purple. I find it overpowering.

I love a neutral palette (like Allison Pennington's Subfloors!!) and will use those over and over as a based for my page. And I'm a fan of papers with tiny patterns (vs big patterns), since I like to use a scrap here and there, the tiny pattern works better for that purpose than a big pattern.

I would probably say the same. Orange/black would be my least favorite. I like pops of color. Teals, greens, pinks, blues.

I tend to steer away from primary color kits.

I'm with Susie. I generally avoid scrapping with primary colors on the same layout. I love them solo or in other combinations, but my brain associates the trio of colors with early school years. This isn't a bad thing, I'm just all finished with scrapping my kids' primary years.

On the flip side, I tend to use a lot of neutral creams and tans, with a pop of color. My pop color will most often be a fuchsia or other jewel tone. The "why" is varied. Fuchsia / raspberry has always been my favorite color, so I find ways to work it into layouts. Easy to do now, especially, since I dyed my hair raspberry during covid closures, lolol.

Thank you all for weighing in, I find it so interesting what people gravitate to and why! Personally, I love having a mix. I do agree about Halloween themed kits that are black and orange. Most costumes aren't those colors, so it's actually super difficult to scrap with that color palette unless you convert your photos to B&W, which doesn't really allow you to showcase the costume.

Disclaimer, I actually like the color pink, but it's just not super practical for me to scrap with. To me it's the least gender neutral color. I have three son and no daughters, so there are only so many subjects I can scrap with pink.

Interesting that so many don't like the Halloween colors. I love the combo of black, orange, purple and slimey green. However - I really never use the Halloween kits I do have, since the themed elements are so specific to Halloween, and we don't celebrate that. You never can satisfy evereyone, huh? LO

Take out the slimey green and I also love the black, orange, purple combination of colors. I've used a few Halloween kits for Halloween costume photos of my cousin's daughter/grandkids but usually stick to the elements that are not so specific to Halloween. Funny thing is the orange/black combo is not the prominent color for any of the layouts, the purple is whether it is a dark purple or a lighter shade.

I've got several friends that live in school districts that have the black/orange combo for their school colors. Thankfully mine is red/white with an accent of black.

These were my high school colors, which was all fine and dandy until someone decided that the year I graduated the boys would wear black robes and the girls would wear orange. The redheaded girls were especially excited about that. :P

Orange is definitely my least favourite colour to use, while blue and green are my faves.

I don't have any color I hate honestly. I'll scrap them all.

My favorite is crafts and oranges and yellows... or blues though

I love all the colors!!! But my background papers tend to be neutral - white, tan, grey, light blue, black. They can be arty - but I do not mesh well with patterned papers. Yipes! I am striving this year to find my "palette." I have not been successful yet. I seriously love all the colors.
