What are you reading lately?

who wrote this book?
there are a couple books with this title.
i want to add the RIGHT one to my 'to read' book list!

(I'm ADDING TONS of new books to my list!)
thanks to YOU girls!
-i should be set for the next 3 YEARS!!!!!!!!

LOL

ohh, sorry, I forgot to say the author! :sense

it's The Shack, by William P. Young
here

I read The Shack last year and really liked it. It really made ya think!

hmmm reading, I vaguely remember what that is. I haven't picked up a book in so long, I really should make time for it.

im soo into horror and true crime books lol i dont think there is anything left for me to read of my authors i like lol

so before i stalk book stores for some of these, what is the hunger, the help about??

i feel lost LOL

i just started in her shoes by jennifer weiner, couldnt tell you what its about yet cause i keep falling to sleep

I can't wait to add a lot of these to my list girls!! When I start a series though, it's hard for me to switch gears until I finish all of them...so I've still got about 5 books to read! Maybe by then I'll have decided on an electronic book reader (I have NO idea which one to get)!!

oh, I've just purchased DEad Until Dark by Charlaine Harris. Does anybody know if it is good? I love love love TRue Blood and they always say books are much better than TV right?

i'm not sure i could talk about hunger games and make it sound as interesting and awesome as it IS!
LOL
it's an easy read and you can't put it down....

the help is about segregation in jackson mississippi. and maids and the love and trials that white families have for their 'help'.
it's reeeeeeeeeally good.

Valerie - the book series is so different from the show. The books are 100x better, and the show doesn't follow the series much after the first episode. I love the books!

I just reread The Dome by Stephen King. Last week I read Heart of the Matter by Emily Griffin and The Island by Elin Hildebrand. I just started The Long Song by Andrea Levy.

I can't wait to put my hands on it!! I bought it the day before yesterday through the net and I guess it's gonna get here in a day or two. I'll come back to tell you guys my opinion on it. I'm sure I'll love it!! :heartslub

I have to agree, I love Hunger Games, too. I have reread it and its sequel Catching Fire so many times.

The Help was the best book I've read this year.

if you haven't read the Hunger Games yet.
then GET TO IT!!!!!!!
they are SOOOOOO GOOD!

Agreed! My nephew introduced me to it. I recently finished the one titled "The Hunger Games," which (I think) is actually the second one. I hate when I go out of order! LOL! I was sort of worried. It seemed like such a morbid, 1984-ish type book, but I did enjoy it. Glad to know the next ones are coming out! Yay!

And, I just downloaded more Sookie Stackhouse to my Kindle. I started that series before they became popular but then moved on to something else. Thanks for the reminder!

Agreed... this is a fabulous thread. :)

Yes, they are good! :) I love all the Sookie books (except for maybe the last two). And Harris's Harper Connelly series is pretty fun too.

I just started reading The Help last night so I guess I'm in good company! And I've been listening to Eat, Pray, Love on my drive to and from work. This summer I've been loving books by celebs like Anthony Bourdain, Chelsea Handler, Craig Ferguson. Really funny stuff.

Great thread. I'm reading the Restoration Series (linked) by Terri Blackstock and I love it. Great series, and I just finished book #3. I definitely recommend reading these in order.

if you haven't read the Hunger Games yet.
then GET TO IT!!!!!!! they are SOOOOOO GOOD!

Definitely sounds like a great read - thanks - I just put a hold on this at our library (I love online Library systems!)

Oh and I'm reading Dreamquake

Thanks Jenni - Sounds great - I've just requested this one as well!

I'm reading the Jack Reacher series by Lee Child. I'm onto book 14 ("61 hours") of 14 now and don't want this to be the last book (so far!) LOL!

I saw on his web site there is another one coming! I've just put the first on hold to check this out!

My favorites lately:
The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest, the 3rd book in the Millenium trilogy and *definitely* the best

The Blue Bistro by Elin Hilderbrand, a fun/beachy kind of read, if you are a foodie you will really love it

Cutting for Stone by Abraham Verghese, amazing & interesting

I also just read all 4 books in Karen Moning's Fever Series...if you like Twilight/Harry Potter type of stuff this will appeal. Fast reads.

My friend is supposed to lend me the girl with the tattoo books and I'm going to look into the Karen Moning series, thanks L :)
