for dinners. :giggle

i'm into the whole... let's plan our meals, and it has been amazing. we've been at it for about a month... but we have a lot of repeat meals.
so what do you eat? i need a database to pull from... and not pinterest ... too many crafty things to distract me down that rabbit hole. haha.

so please.... :flirty

favorite.... 5 or 10 meals.

Hmm, as there are only two of us and we are both on limited income (approx $1200 a month each) we stretch a lot of things like chicken and ham and eggs. We tend to go through a fair bit of the same each month - ham/chicken vege and rice soup, ham/chicken fried rice, stirfries, frittatas, grilled cheese sandwiches, mexican, pancakes, french toast, scrambled eggs, roast chicken.....

Here are some of our favorites:
rosemary chicken
meatballs (we use the meatloaf mix of ground meat from our local shop and tomato sauce from Trader Joes-- SO good!)
Braised chicken with shallots
Slow cooker bratwurst (unbelievable)

Love slow cooker recipes because you just leave it and you come home to a cooked meal-- voila!

And yo, Heather… what about you? Are you going to hit us up with your favorites? :)

I kinda stink at the whole meal planning thing. I am more of a "pull a rabbit out of a hat" type. DH asks what we are having for dinner as he is eating breakfast and I just respond with "question mark". :giggle
We have tried 4 - 6 new recipes each month, found on pinterest, and most have stayed in my bag of tricks.

I hope to be more organized in 2015 and put meal planning back on the to do list.

The question is what am I NOT eating.

Last night I made the kids chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. I had a pita with hummus and cucumbers and tomatoes and red bell peppers. And onion rings, before you get too excited about how healthy that almost was.

Last night I had leftover homemade chicken noodle soup--which was originally our dinner from Sunday.
Friday night we had bacon wrapped chicken breasts with wild rice and green peas.
Saturday I was on my own and don't remember what I ate, lol.
Last week was chilli in the crockpot...I use my crockpot quite a bit in the winter/hockey season.

Last night it was stir fried chicken with peppers, zucchini, onions served with pineapple and cherries. The night before it was burgers and tater tots with green beans.

Now that my son is home from college for a while I have to get back in the groove of actually cooking dinner instead of just rummaging in the fridge for myself.
