Just thought I would share with all of you and maybe give you some inspiration.

This is what running, some cross training, weights and such has done for me in the last 14 months. I have logged over 900 miles walking and running, done over 400 workouts and put in over 250 hours working out. It has been worth EVERY single moment. It was not easy. In fact, it was extremely hard most of the time. I have struggled with my diet, with getting my rear off the couch, with getting enough rest, etc. But, I always started every day with a new can do attitude and gave each day the best I had, one small "right" choice at a time is what brought me here.

I can not even describe to you the happiness and confidence that making this lifestyle change has given me. I love myself as a 38 year old GRANDMOTHER more than I have at any other time in my life. I feel like I am in the prime of my life and feel more sexy than I ever have. I am stronger and healthier than ever. It is awesome to be this comfortable in my own skin.

I truly wish I could touch everyone with a magic wand and give you the same feelings about yourself. Everyone should feel this way. If you are wanting to make a change and live a healthier life, you can. Just one step at a time. Make one better choice today, then two better choices tomorrow. Get up and move, even if only for 30 minutes a few times a week. Keep working, keep pushing, keep challenging yourself to work harder, eat better and be the best you that you can be. All of these little changes add up over time to the goal you want. Look ahead a week or a month at a time. Don't get hung up on how far away the goal seems to be.

Ok....off to shower now. I stink after an hour and 45 min. workout today.

    Hugs to all!

I know Angie. It is a horrible challenge for me to overcome - I really have to concentrate on it when I run. I am trying to focus more on my form and improve now. I still have so much to learn! ;)

I had to do the same. Took about 6 months of working on it before I didn't have to think about it anymore. Not to distract from your sexy thread here, but run in place for a minute and take note of what part of your foot you land on. Now lean forward slightly at the ankles while running in place. Your running in place will automatically start making forward progress, and you'll be landing right. :) There's lots of YouTube videos that might help. I tell people make sure their feet are landing UNDER them and not in front of them. You want to push off, not pull forward. Tiny steps.

Wow, you look amazing and should be very proud of your accomplishments. I am struggling with a foot injury at the moment which has totally STOPPED me from running (and even walking is difficult), but I am trying to stay motivated with videos and mat work (although nothing feels as good as a nice run). You are now my inspiration!

I wonder if the heel striking could maybe be contributing to my knee issues? You think?

Thank you Rachel! I totally feel for you. I know how hard it is to have an injury and be limited on what you can do. I cried so much when I couldn't run. But good for you for finding other ways to stay fit and active!

It could. Usually it causes shin splints but yeah. Poor form can cause all kinds of problems.

you look AMAZING!!! I haven't managed to run in ages and really want to get back to it, my plan was to start up again next week once school was underway and i had mornings free again. just need that PUSH! i really like doing core training and HIT training, but injured my wrist last fall and have not been able to do any of my video workouts properly since. really depressing because I love working up a sweat and beating that darn DVD...but I can't do push-ups, dips, mountain climbers or burpees...I can't even plank with my wrist. :(

You are my inspiration on Daily Mile every day Neenee! Thanks so much for the words you wrote to inspire us. And look at you!!!!

I had my running gait analyzed by a running specialist physical therapist earlier this year. I ran and he took videos of me. We watched it together. I'm not a heel striker, but more like a midfoot striker. Not a forefoot striker yet. Leaning forward a little bit and taking smaller but faster steps has made a difference for me as far as not being a heel striker.

Neenee, you look fabulous! An hour and a half? Your stamina must be through the roof!

Amber, you can plank from your forearm, not your wrist. Because of my hip, I have to modify stuff like jumping jacks (it can be done) and weak wrists means I have to modify those moves, too. Google "mini-plank". It's just as tough to do as a fully plank.
