We made it to Friday! Hooray!

My son and I are on our way via train to my parents house, then on to the lake. DH has to work instead.

Saturday DH and I are heading out with all the sibling couples, while munchkin has a grandma sleepover. Hopefully without dad there to stir the pot, it'll be a great time.

What's on your schedule?

Sounds like a fun weekend for you! I'm just excited cuz DH was in California last week, home for about 22 hrs, and then he flew to the East coast for a week. Anyway, he comes back today. And this weekend (tonight, hopefully) we're going to finish staining our fence. Fun? Nope, but we really need to do it cuz it's been raining off-and-on the past month and we couldn't do it (the fence has to dry 48 hrs if it rains). Now he's gonna be home and we finally have a chance to finish the last 3 panels. No rain in the forecast means he comes home and we'll start staining. Poor guy doesn't even get to relax. Oh well. :evillaughBut if we finish it tonight then we're going to put the kids to bed and make a big drink and relax. 3 panels should be easy, but with 2 youngsters running around, you never know.

@Tree City - Anyone who tackles home improvement projects with children around has my admiration! I have a tough enough time when it's just DH and me... LOL!

@bestcee - We have a weekend without ANYTHING scheduled, and I am jealously protecting the time! We'll probably use the time to do a little housework, maybe some research on our upcoming home remodeling projects, and maybe catch a movie or two. And my DH has been saying for 2+ years that he needs to organize his office, so maybe I can convince him to spend some time on that while I'm across the hall in my studio, scrapbooking... (I'm sneaky like that!)

my weekend sounds a little like yours Courtney @bestcee ... husband has a demanding work schedule at the moment. so my daughter and I are headed to visit family in NJ for a few days/long weekend. beach/boardwalk and also will visit my brother down in the Maryland/Chesapeake Bay area .... he recently purchased a boat so we will spend one day out on the water.

@angiekey enjoy the relying weekend for a change and @Tree City may the No Rain Odds be forever in your favor. seriously though good luck with that!

DH and I are going to see Star Trek tonight. Probably the Farmer's Market and a bit of "get ready for college" shopping with Elizabeth on Saturday. Sunday will be church and downtime.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Jenn! What area in NJ do you head to!? We should totally meet up for lunch one day over the summer! We are in the middle of Point Pleasant, and Seaside Heights. (Lavallette, NJ)

We are headed to the shore tonight for some relaxing, a bit of an arcade probably for the boys. Beach and hang out with family friends tomorrow with a BBQ/40th birthday shindig tomorrow afternoon. Sunday, Beach! :)

I'm working on painting and organizing our garage (something that never got done when we moved in). I know, it's just the garage, but I want it looking half way nice.

My 2 older girl are home from camp. I missed them terribly. We are going to veg tonight, watch an 'older' kid movie once the littles go to bed and eat some ice cream!

swim meet tonight - my son is swimming a 500freestyle. longest he's done is 200. this should be interesting.

2 basketball games tomorrow, and then Sunday I kiss my DS12 off on a missions trip with church. This makes the second full week this summer he's gone! And this time my DH is traveling for work so it's just DD and me for half a week. We have some fun girly stuff planned each day after work :)

Sunday afternoon DD and DH are golfing, and I'm getting a massage....ah:hammock

I will be spending a good bit of time sitting and reading/or watching tv movies with a heating pad on my lower back. It's gone stiff and the heat really helps along with a muscle relaxer at night. It seems strange to have the a/c on with a heating pad but whatever works! the Dr told me to get some of those Thermacare bands for the day time which would allow me to walk and sit and scrap more. However, Target only had the small one which goes up to size 9 dress size. :badmood
Size 9 was many years ago... so I may look for a larger size tonight. I believe we hit 100 today so it may not happen.

I am going out tonight to visit someone who got into trouble with the law. This is the kind of weather that is truly hell in jails It certainly isn't a/c like we have at home but at least our county does have a/c. Baltimore city did not a few years ago. I don't know it they do yet... A very good dose of gratitude comes with this kind of visit, believe me!

@jenn mccabe if you're able to meet @jk703 then I hope you're able to meet me, too. I'm not in NJ but if you take I-95 to visit your brother then you're not far from me. :) In fact, if anyone is ever driving along the Philadelphia-area "95 corridor," or driving to Baltimore from PA or NJ (or NY, I guess lol), then I can probably meet you. :)

We're up at the cabin for the weekend, fingers crossed for good weather as its been pretty chilly so far this summer.

My Honey got to come home early from work today so we got our grocery shopping done and made a visit to a nursery where we bought several new plants. Our HOA sent us a letter letting us know that we needed to remove/replace our dead plants...which were doing just fine until our very hot weather got to them this past month or so. It has just been too hot to go outside to do anything with them. 114 today. :) We went out after dark last night and trimmed up the plants we are hoping to save so that part is done. Anyway, we will get the new ones potted and watered good and freshen things up out there in the morning. Will probably run to a few places with our daughter. And I want to scrapbook.

Not too much planned for us. We need to get the grass mowed, just trying to time it so we're not doing it during the hottest part of the day since it's supposed to be the hottest it's been all summer. Football practice starts for DS on Monday, so we also need to get out and find cleats and other little things. DD texted to tell me that Red Lobster is having a special on crab legs right now. I think that was a hint to take her out to dinner since she knows I don't even like crab legs lol. And we need to get busy on finalizing baby shower plans.

Friday we drove 5+ hours across state to pick up Conan (grandson #2). We got to spend a little time with my stepson. After a wee bit of drama (from Tim's ex-wife... no trip would be complete without it :giggle), we got Conan this morning and made our way home. We had over 25 miles of really loud/competing fart noises and giggles coming from the back seat. Lots of "watch this," "look at this," "wanna see this?" between the boys in the car. We're car-lagged but making the 3-hour drive to the beach house tomorrow morning and coming back Monday evening because Conan really wants to see the ocean.

It will be interesting. I haven't seen Conan in 2 years. Tim saw him last year. But he's never stayed with us before. He's 5 and has gone through some severe trauma (he was physically abused by his mom's boyfriend two years ago). So we're crossing our fingers that everything goes okay. He has already asked when he's going home. Yikes. Kennedy is keeping him entertained so far, but Kennedy is also used to being an only child, so we'll see how it goes. Tim is just so excited to have Conan here. It is cute. We've already talked about the fact that things might have to be fluid and that we might have to take him home earlier than anticipated. But for now, he's looking forward to the beach, so we've got that to hold him over the next 48 hours. LOL. I'm just going to be taking lots of pictures and trying to enjoy the moments. :)

Yes, please! :) We must be close to one another. If you ever head this way, give me a shout!

@jk703 I wish I had seen this ... my parents are about 35 minutes from either Pt Pleasant or Seaside. Sunday evening we were in Point! I will probably be down again - watching their house at the end of august. I will let you know!

@Tree City I don't go down to the Baltimore area often - but we were in Havre De Grace on Saturday at the marina with the little playground. That's where my brother is docking his boat this summer. It's usually just a day trip though ... but if I'm there for an extended stay I will let you know.

Maybe we need a NJ NY MD CT meet up this fall!?
