Can't believe it's almost the weekend again!

What are your plans this weekend? Anything exciting? Anything festive? Or just another ordinary weekend?

Nothing too exciting as normal with fatigue - hoping to do some BYOC scrapping tomorrow then will sit down and watch my fave basketball team play on TV tomorrow night. Sunday I'm honestly not sure - probably going to try and get in the kitchen and stock up on some essentials so I eat better throughout the week and don't end up buying overpriced flavour less gluten free things that I could make. I definitely know I need to make bread and probably a salad or two for the beginning of the week for my lunches.

When the sun goes down today the Christmas lights are being switched on at our local centre where our church building is. The council have organised a street party, and we are opening up the building for some activities including a Christmas puppet show. My husband and 2 of my toucanettes are puppeteers for it. I made the props. I'm looking forward to watching them perform (I'm going to be the stage manager).

Then on Sunday we have a very special birthday to celebrate that I have not finished preparing for.

Friday I'll be staying with my Mama until the evening when my sister will take over for the night. Saturday there's an adoption celebration we're supposed to go to midday, and then the SEC Championship game AL v GA is Saturday afternoon.

I'm not sure what the caregiving plan is for my Mama as my sister and I are trying to work out a schedule to give both of us breaks. So I might be there on Saturday, or Saturday, or Sunday and Sunday night.

Other than that, I'd like to scrap some, but we'll see if I fit that in.

Today is our day to care for our grandson who just turned 9 months old. We treat ourselves to dinner out after a day of child care. :D

Saturday morning I have a holiday brunch to attend put on by the women's advocacy organization I belong to. There's going to be both a live auction and silent auction as well at the event.

Other than that, I want to get out our storage bins with Christmas items and go through them, set aside some things to donate, and start doing some decorating for the holidays.

I need to get some prescriptions refilled today and then I'll go by the cemetery. Today would be my Dad's 94th birthday.

Saturday is the MAC Championship game with my U of Toledo Rockets playing the Miami of Ohio Redhawks. Should be a good game. Toledo did beat Miami during the regular season but it was a close game.

Otherwise I'll just be taking it easy, either doing jigsaw puzzles or scrapping.

Tonight is supposed to be our Town's Christmas tree lighting. The local high school choir sings some carols and then at 6:30pm they flip the switch to turn on the tree and all the lights along the 1/2 mile long bluff through town. I love going to this each year, but tonight it's going to rain, so I don't think we will go. Bummer!

Tomorrow is my son's first swim meet of the season and since it's his senior year, this starts his last season ever. That's about an hour and 15 minutes away, so that'll take up most of the day.

Sunday I think we'll probably finish putting up the rest of our Christmas decorations even though we don't have our tree yet. My hubby truck is in the shop and the tree won't fit in my car, so that process is delayed.

Laundry tonight, as usual.

Tomorrow I want to climb up in the attic and drag down my Christmas dishes; then take my regular dishes up there. I also need to set up my "wrap station" and start wrapping gifts.

Sunday the GK and I are building and decorating gingerbread "houses" ... mine is a house, Will's is a pickup truck, and Natasha chose a barn to build.

We have 2 x 17 yr old girls staying with us this week - Anneka is our eldest granddaughter and Sam is her BFF of 17 years (their mothers met in hospital after giving birth). These girls are celebrating "schoolies" - the end of their school lives. Schoolies is a week long 'celebration' (party party party) here on the Gold Coast that tends to be a little wild. But these two are celebrating their own way - theme parks, paddle boards, surfing, movies and Diamond Dots & Paint By Numbers!!! (Thankfully!) Tonight we are all going to Miami Marketta which is an indoor night market with food trucks & music. Tomorrow is Movie World (but thankfully we don't have to go - I'll just stay home and cook as they do have very healthy appetites - must be the sea air!
Somewhere in there we will put up the Christmas lights, etc. though we aren't putting up the tree :tree this year as we are going on a Christmas/New Year cruise to New Zealand this year.

Pretty ordinary here.
Hubby has to do catch up online classes for the days he was absent for business trip. He just told me he will do them from home with Zoom so I am internally rejoicing because it means I won't have to drive him to the university lol
THEREFORE, more time to spend catching up on my own to-do list. But hopefully I can squeeze a scrap page in between work/design.
It's cold outside, hubby is exhausted lately so we wouldn't have gone anywhere anyway. I like staying home more and more te he he.

This evening I helped my oldest celebrate finishing another college semester by eating donuts. :P Saturday and Sunday mornings I'll be walking as usual with my two walking friends (one each day). One is in a park, the other is in town. I'll also do my usual food prep. And I'll be resting. November weekends were all busy. This will be the quietest one I've had in a month. Maybe I'll do some scrapping! :yesss

Nothing special planned for this weekend. It's been raining here all day, so I hope it stops so I can go out and get some fresh air tomorrow!

Saturday is all birthday stuff. Sunday is church and hopefully putting up the Christmas tree, maybe a Christmas concert too. Busy busy!

Tonight the husband and I went out to dinner - it was nice to get out for a little date. We came home and watched The Imitation Game. Tomorrow we don't have any set in stone plans but plenty to do - house is a mess so we will probably be doing housework most of the day.

My youngest granddaughter turns 1 on Tuesday and her party is this afternoon :)
Other than that, I've got to get this house in order and start sorting through Christmas purchases.
Also, because I was chosen Teacher of the Year for my school, I am now in the running for county Teacher of the Year and I have to write an essay on my philosophy of teaching.

2 of my children were in a local Narnia Ballet this weekend. So we went to the first show last night. Then, they were busy with that all day while the rest of us straightened up the house and wrapped some Christmas gifts. I went in between shows to give them food. Hubby and I went out to dinner and then I came home and worked on a science project for my class (exciting Saturday nights around here). Tomorrow is church and meetings and stuff. Hoping to get some relaxation time in tomorrow afternoon/evening before the crazy week begins.
