WEEK ONE-The Skinny Art Journal?

Welcome to the 2013 Art Journal Summer Challenge Kick OFF!

So for June, my thoughts were to start small, less of a canvas, not so overwhelming. Most pages are done 12x12, and we are going to do a 12x12, but take the long way, a more scenic route to get there.

One skinny bit at a time!
Skinny! Yep! This is a small canvas, a 3inch by 12 inch strip!

Each week, I will give instructions to add another 3x12 to it. They do NOT have to coordinate, but they can. They do NOT have to flow together, but they can? See how freeing art journaling can be?
It will be a skinny accordion art journal page!

So today, and this week, lets talk about art journaling. Your fears, loves, and all inbetween?

Week one: Just talk about art journaling, what it is to you, in word, art or scribbles, it is your page. You can use the medium of your choice, but make it a skinny! 3x12 inches. The words can be hidden are all up in your koolaide.

A page in which you combine art and words to express yourself. That’s it. It’s not complex, and there really aren’t any rules for art journaling. It’s all about self-expression.

you can use photos, you can, you can, it is just not always a have too..it is absolutely fine to not have a photo or to have one! You did amazing, and I am just so happy about everyone have such a unique style that their personalities come thru! oh golly, I am just beaming with proud of ya'll

 

go to your computer
open CS or PS
open a 3x12 canvas
then stare at it
go to your Lily Pad folder, and find your most favorite element ever...
again and again...
and laugh
and go,
I will show that Anne of Alamo,
I can do a skinny art journal..I can darn it!!

 

yeah on Agnes doing the skinny skinny woo hoo, and I so agree, the gallery is just wicked with the rebellious 3x12's standing so proud and loud!

 

this is slang....here in America, what it means is it is all up to you what you would like to do with the journaling.
show it on the page or cover it with elements or blend into the page
koolaide is a powdered mix drink and comes in different flavors, and you can choose what you like...very urban slang
