Have you done an album or project for this specifically? How did you make it work for you?

I am tempted to try it. But not in pocket style, probably. I'm not sure how mine will turn out.... or if I can even make it through an entire week. Haha.

I did it last year and really enjoyed it. I had intended to do a separate album but I wanted to use so many of the photos on my regular PL page, that I ended up just incorporating it into my PL album.

This year, I was sick on the official week, attempted it the next week and, as usual, fizzled out toward the end of the week. I haven't done a thing with those photos yet. In fact, I'm still thinking about whether I even want to do it as a week in the life or just a regular PL page and attempt a different week later in the year. I really liked my photos I took last year (I really worked on getting those truly everyday types of shots) and this year I wasn't liking what I was getting. They were more quick reactive shots vs. thought out routine things that I wanted to capture.

I just realized that I don't think I uploaded my week in the life pages from last year anywhere, I'll add them here if you're interested.

I'm more interested in the process, than the pages, to be honest. Did you use Ali's daily sheets, or maybe journal somewhere else? I'm not a project life person, so I'm really not sure how this project would be much different than that. I thought the week was usually in October, so I am way behind. Lol

I mean, I know it can be any week... so I was thinking I might try starting tomorrow.

It's a different week every year, last year it was in October, this year it was in August. I kind of like the idea of seeing the contrast of the same week year to year, so I might do the same week again.

With project life, I try to capture more of the stuff we're doing, with AWITL I tried to capture more of our routine, the real everyday stuff you tend to overlook (and I made a decided point to use my "big camera" that week instead of relying on my phone so much). Like on this page...

I tried to document the boring stuff... vacuuming and emptying the dishwasher.

I like the way Cathy Zielske did hers this year. I would love to be more of a journaler and write more about how I feel about things vs. just recording the bullet points. It's something I'm working on.

As for the process, I kept notes and tried to work on my pages throughout the week.

Well, I decided not to start today. Rather, get a bit organized first, and decide if it is really on my "most important" list for right now. I am still working on other projects I wanted to complete for Christmas presents.... so I need to take the time to plan it out and get it right :)

Sounds like a good plan... it does take a bit of planning to get it right... and, quite frankly, "getting it right" means different things to different people so there are lots of options to research. I'm getting ready to do the PL pages for the week I attempted AWITL and I really hate the photos. Like I mentioned before, they were really reactive vs. proactive. They seem really disjointed. Now I'm at a loss as to what to do with this mess of photos.

I thought about trying again the same week I did last year, but like you, I have Christmas present projects to complete... plus I'm bound and determined to finally (after three or four failed attempts) to successfully complete a Daily December book.

I'd be interested in joining in with others if anyone wants to pick a week. Sounds fun as I've never done it before.

Okay... after just posting that I didn't think I'd do it this year, I will admit that I could be swayed if we got a group together here. :giggle

Oh, if we have a group, I'm totally in. Lol. (I'm ridiculous. I know)

Here is kinda what I was thinking.... taking a ton of "back up" photos. By this I mean, take the camera through all areas of the house. Take the pictures of the dishes in the sink, weeds in the yard, and dog hair on the floor, etc.. They are a part of the story I want to tell in my project anyway. Things like, my coffee pot, or screen shots of apps (like weather, netflix, etc) that would be a part of my story. Then, focus on the journaling during the actual week, and getting random pictures that go with stories.

I would take the "back up photos" soon, so I have them, then do the rest during the week. Idk. Thoughts?

When are you thinking of doing this, you guys? I don't know if I will complete it but I love the idea, and a week doesn't seem so bad. Especially with my cell phone camera!

I am planning on doing it after we get into our new place. That will be in the next month(ish). Maybe the beginning of October? I feel like that's when Ali did it last year, too, but oh well. :)

Beginning of October would suit me too. What about week commencing 4 or 5 October?

Does that week seem to work for most people interested? I'll set up a memory motivators thread. ...

I will try. I might take my pictures and jot my notes down... then try to scrap them super simply.
