Hello Campers!

We are curious, what is your current workspace or desktop setup, what program do you use to scrap and do you have a routine?

We love to have a sneaky peek behind the scenes of your special places and spaces, and we love to see where the magic happens and learn more about you!!

Tell us, or show us if you’re able, what your current workspace, and/or desktop set up looks like!!

It’s so interesting seeing from various threads that we use a range of tools and it’s always handy to know which creatives use which so we can reach out for help within our community from each other when we get stuck :grouphug

Are you loyal to Adobe? I see some of our community have ventured out and tried Affinity, Photopea and I even know of some creatives who have also been using Canva as a creative tool too.

Do you create on a computer, laptop or tablet? Are you a daytime creative or a night owl? Do you like to work in peace and quiet or do you listen to music, shows or podcasts? Do you have anything else around you whilst your work such as comfort items, pets or snacks?

I have a nook/small office in the corner of our open plan kitchen and diner where I have my creative space. This is where I work, craft and create during school hours so I mostly do my scrapping during the day - It's cosy (cramped) but functional I guess! I used to have a large double bedroom upstairs to myself with much more room but . . . kids . . . :giggle

Seeing as i mostly scrap during the day during typical working hours I'm quite often eating my lunch or morning pastry whilst i'm creating and normally have a coffee or bottle of water close by!

My set up:

Apple Mac - M1 Max, 64GB with a 2TB External Drive
Monitor - Apple Studio Display, 27inch 5K Retina Screen
Printer - Canon Pixma G5050 Refillable Tank
Scanner - Epson Perfection V500 Photo
Tablet - Wacom Intuos S
Sewing Machine - Janome DC3050

Here's a few photos I shared during my Love Our Designer Event.

Rachel-LOD workspace.jpg

Don't worry if your desk is currently covered in half-finished projects, coffee mugs or other clutter, we want to see the real, messy creative reality! Disclaimer, this is not how my desk and work space normally looks! :rollin:giggle

I'm looking forward to learning more about where and how you create too!

Note: This is just for fun and doesn't count toward the challenges and games for your participation prizes. Please do not add this to your challenges and games tracking thread.

I used to scrap on my gaming computer. I have two screens which really makes everything a lot easier. I use Photoshop elements.

But that's in the budgie area of the house, and Noco wants to kill them :eyeroll And Noco don't want to be alone so these days most of my pages are made on my laptop in the living room. I have an IT hubby, so he set it up so that I have all my photos and scrapping supplies on my big computer- nothing is saved on the laptop because of storage. I just fetch everything from my main PC.

I tried using our TV as a second screen, but it was a bit meh. I don't know.

I'm an Affinity Scrapper, and I have done some watch me scrap videos where you can see my laptop screen set-up and how I work.

Here's a shot of my desk right now.

I love those big drawers in your desk and your lovely stuffed toys, I know your family is crafty and a dabb hand with the sewing machine, were some of those made by yourselves?

Thanks for sharing your space with us! I'll have a look closer at your laptop set up in your videos! x

thanks, Yes the 2 dolls are my handywork. The desk is an old teacher's desk from a school closure. They were giving furniture away.

Oh wow, it looks like you have your second screen in portrait, how cool is that ?! And how cool to see HMV Planning up in view!! :cheer:clap

That doesn't sound too relaxing though with the pet conflicts :lol You have to keep the peace, I sometimes try to do tid bits of work on my macbook pro whilst watching tv but I can never focus, do you find tasks take three times as long when working remotely on your lap? i do!

Yes, it's in portrait! I find that is the best usage of the desk space, and it works so well for finding photos and scrapbook elements!

Yeah, everything takes sooo much longer on the laptop. I don't have the TV on though, but still.

This is pretty much my setup... just today I have a jersey on and am enjoying the winter sun streaming into the lounge

I scrap on my laptop using Affinity 3. I sit in the lounge as the chair is comfortable, the family is around (or not) and I can watch tv while scrapping (or at least pretend to watch!)

I have a desk setup in the basement that I use for work (my laptop), but I also have a desktop with 3 screens that I use for scrapping. This is my current setup, it is pretty dusty and needs a good tidy up, but here it is in all its glory:

I usually create in the daytime before I start work. I like to work in peace and quiet so no music or podcasts for me. Do you have anything else around you whilst your work such as comfort items, pets or snacks? I have a current picture of my boys on my desk and a snacklebox filled with different treats handy. My pup comes to me with a ball to throw while I am working, so I am usually trying to scrap, then throw the ball, then back to scrapping, then back to throwing the ball. This would go on for hours if I let it!

I scrap at my kitchen table with my laptop overlooking the backyard and the critters of birds and bunnies while I drink water, coffee etc and have the TV on for noise :) .. I definitely am a PS CC girl and sometimes I also have breakfast while I scrap but mainly just drink coffee & water :)

Here's my messy office overlooking my back yard. I use it for work and scrapping so I have two computers -- one for work and one for personal use with a monitor for each. The sweater is my work "conference call sweater" that I throw on to cover up my pjs or workout tshirt. :giggle I use the table and cabinets by the window for creating and photographing hybrid projects (you can see my planner being photographed over by the window). The fabric strips on the blinds are to prevent sun spots when photographing hybrid pages.

Here's my messy studio**. A great view of my birds out front. My laptop, my printer, my scanner and printing supplies are all nearby. To the right in the photo is a wall rack filled with instructional books for scrapbooking, Photoshop, art journaling. It's all quite compact, but it works for me. Oh, I noticed some mending in a basket in the lower left corner. Does anyone want to help me with that? LOL.

** Disclaimer. It is obvious I didn't tidy up for this photo.

How timely, as I spent yesterday cleaning my office/desk. I had a big pile of stuff that needed to be put in the right storage spaces & file cabinet! I am lucky enough to have an entire room for all my craftiness & decor storage. My desk functions as the central storage hub & then I have a big ikea cube system behind me that stores all the paper crafting, seasonal decorations & miscellaneous crafting & decor supplies. I also have my great grandma's china cabinet that I painted bright blue that holds a lot of decor & my stamping supplies. I LOVE having 3 monitors when I scrap so that I have all my folders up on one screen, PS CC on the middle & then my supply previews on the 3rd screen. Sometimes I have a tv show up that I'm watching while I scrap too- but mostly I listen to audiobooks while scrapping.

Here's my setup!

I love seeing you!! Thanks for including you in the photo! Love your lap tray and you look really comfy! Great to know of another affinity scrapper, it's becoming quite popular. Who's the little guy who's face planted next to you?!
