Vote!!

we are watching with interest from abroad - I will have the tv on all day - I'm a bit of a political nerd and the US system fascinates me - so different from ours. (we have compulsory voting and no presidential race)

We voted this afternoon. The polling place had coffee and cookies. Isn't that nice. DH was happy. Unfortunately I'm on a diet. Grumble. Yay for voting though! Got my sticker. Lol

I was so excited to vote in person! its so much more exciting than filling in a scantron at my kitchen table when i voted absentee. PLUS, i got a sticker i can put on a scrapbook page! =)

I went at about 10:30 (my boss and I just left work and went) and it was about a 2 hour wait for me. My son (his first election!) was excited to vote, he went at about 2:00 and it only took 15 minutes.

My daughter just registered last month and was supposed to go after school this evening. Hope it goes well for her.

I voted this morning at 10am-ish with my husband. We both logged into KPCC (local Los Angeles NPR station site) and went down the huge list of information about the 15 or so initiatives--including one about whether to vote out the death penalty or not, and two competing initiatives on school funding. Yikes! One of the poll workers said that there'd been a line at 6:30am that went around the corner of the school of people waiting to vote before going to work! We also had a first time voter or two come in while we were there, but we didn't clap. More people came in as we left, and every ballot station was filled, with a short line of ~8 people waiting to get checked in!

We all went as a family this morning about 8:00!!! The kiddos were super excited to go!!!! It's the first time we have gone as a family.
