Valentine's Day - what do you do?!

Over here (in the UK) Valentine's Day is a purely romantic day for couples (or wannabe couples!), there isn't the friendship twist that you guys in the States seem to have. Our kids don't give Valentine's to their classmates or their friends for example. In fact, that would be really weird.... :lol

Tomorrow, my hubby and I will be completely ignoring the fact that it is Valentine's Day! :giggle We have never really celebrated it, old cynics that we are! So, what will you be doing?

We don't celebrate either. It will be just like any other day except we will make sure we avoid all restaurants that night.

us too! it's a ridiculous holiday... i don't need a special day to remember i love DH...i love him every day, more! :)

We don't really celebrate either... but my SIL did offer to babysit tonight so we're going out to dinner. :)

We wont be celebrating either. However, if I dont get chocolate, I will be mad. LOLOL! DH and I are going on our little 2 day cruise next week, so we'll celebrate then!

We don't do anything major - i got John a card and a movie. From the way he's acted, I have a feeling he didn't even get me a card! LOL! (which I'm okay with)

We don't do anything either... we feel the same as you gals.. we can celebrate each and everyday how much we love each other.. .well except for the day's when we're not talking to each other...lol

We don't have any plans. :whoopdedoo
You could not find a more unromantic couple than us. LOL

We do plan to give little gifts to the kiddos too and I picked up a little bag of chocolates for myself - can't pass up a chocolate opportunity now can I?

The two of us don't do anything either. I did get the kiddos some candy and I'm hoping to score some clearance chocolate Feb 15th.

Here i thought we were the only boring couple LOL we are doing nothing. We got each other cards and I'll make supper here. We know we love each other don't need to spend a ton of money to prove it.

My husband is now over in the UK so i will be stag for the big love day.

I have a line up of chick movies, im going to ignore my children, and snuggle in bed with a new book and bottle of wine in the evening.

not much fun.

I'll be going to my husband's softball game :whoopdedoo

The league canceled the game for the SUPERBOWL - but for Valentines Day? No way. Men.

We usually just exchange cards and some candy or flowers on V-day but go out to dinner by ourselves another day that week. My sister's birthday is on V-day so we usually have a family dinner for that (although, because of DH's softball game, we're doing her birthday dinner tonight instead).

I got the kids each a tshirt and a little thing of candy for Vday - more than I usually do! HAHAHA

we have zero plans. My hubby is at work. *cry*

I do however LOVE Valentine's day! And I so wish he were gonna be home. I bought him presents and I would normally cook him a super nice meal. I will have to do that another day I guess, lol

It's the same in Australia Kate...I so don't understand the kid thing for Valentines!
We are doing nothing. DH forgot and I made him a LO :giggle but that's it. He's off to play golf soon so I might scrap!

We don't celebrate either. Both dh and I think it's a silly Hallmark holiday. :lol Our anniversary is the 19th, so we usually just celebrate that day. Tomorrow we'll be watching the Daytona 500 - which is where we went for our honeymoon - and we'll be grilling steaks for dinner; but that could be dinner any Sunday :D

Well, we never intend to celebrate Valentine's Day because you may remember I don't like any holiday that I don't get off of work. LOL If I don't get it off, then it's not a holiday.

BUT, yesterday when I was out grocery shopping I bought a card for Tom. Then when he was unloading the groceries he happened to find the card bag and got all "You got me a card?" So then when he went to the gym, he went and picked me up a card and a new Adidas sweartshirt (which I didn't find out until this morning). So then when *I* went out to Walgreen's to get cough syrup for the boy, I stopped and got him the new pair of running shoes he wanted.

Then I did our taxes, found out we were both getting refunds, so we went out to dinner.

So yea, we don't celebrate Valentine's Day until I pick up a card at Target. Then all hell breaks loose.

We don't do anything special....I made heart shaped pancakes for the kids and we did some Valentine's day crafts. The kids made cards for DH and I which was really sweet, but that's about it. We had a glass of wine and watched the Olympics, that qualifies as a crazy night for us..lol.
