I have a Chromebook that I have a love/hate relationship with. I love that it's my kitchen cookbook, but I hate that it updates almost weekly! It's so annoying.
During iNSD weekend both Adobe and my computer had an update! I was like - Nope! No - no - no. You can wait until after iNSD!
My phone has an update. It came through yesterday, but I didn't update yet because I was out and about and needed my phone available. Maybe today I'll let it update.

Usually, I'm okay with letting things update, because I know I can always roll back if something breaks that I need. How about you? Are you an update immediately person? A wait to see if it works? And do you push up all updates to a more convenient time or just go with it?

I usually let them do their thing when they pop up. Usually they work out okay.

Depends.

Android updates I usually keep putting off until it annoys me to keep doing it. Had a Windows update pop up yesterday morning and when I saw an article about it possibly causing some issues, I decided to get a backup done first. Backup is set to work on Wed night. When I turned on the monitor this morning, I saw Windows had updated on its own.

My tablet I usually put off because it wants to update when I'm using it. Not good, pick a time when I'm not using it and go.

I tend to wait. That said I finally updated my version of WIN 10 to the latest version this past weekend, or rather whatever was the latest version on Sunday. My desktop is WIN 7 and it keeps updating on a regular basis ... security updates no doubt, but I find it funny that in spite of Microsoft's warnings that they aren't supporting WIN 7 anymore they still are.

My 26 y.o. grandson has an iPhone 8 that he's never updated ... he doesn't trust Apple not to slow his phone down ... although I think Apple was ordered not to do that anymore.

I usually delay them as much as possible because so often the computer ones seem to take ages, so if I see a pop up about Windows needing to update, I usually am all :overreact (& I don't think I've used that emoticon for anything else - I was like that one morning during insd, it always seems to be bad timing, like when I actually want to use my laptop... but I guess it's like everything else, like you only notice a flat tire or engine light on the dash when you need to drive somewhere )

I would guess that if he only uses it as a throw-back phone, like just for calls & messages, it should work fine without updates. iOS updates & limits on the kids game/music iPod's used to drive me crazy & is half the reason I'm an Android user

I wait as long as possible to update and then only do it when it's convenient....I hate updates until I've had a chance to get used to them and by then, there's usually another one. LOL

I wait until it's convenient for me. It's so annoying when THEY want to update MY device. It totally depends on what the update is- especially on my phone, but most especially on my Apple watch! Some of the updates aren't necessary, in my opinion so they can wait until I'm ready.

I don't know . . . I think it depends on what kind of mood I'm in. LOL Sometimes I don't trust an update to work out well, especially if everything is going to hell in a handbasket IRL, so I will put it off. Other times, I'm happy and/or in less pain, and I'm more willing to take a chance and update right away.

I wait. At least for my phone because my PC will update when I shut it down. If I don’t shut it down nightly my scrapping program makes it run slower than it already is.

For my phone I typically wait until the update of the update because there’s usually so many bugs associated with them. I’m about 3 big IOS updates behind because I need to delete a bunch of my photos to make room for the new batch of emojis that are associated with that update, and the fact it churns through the battery faster than normal I’ll have to do it one of these days, but I really don’t want to sort through photos!

Yep, 100%, updates tend to cause me the most grief when I’m on a time crunch with a deadline

I had what they called Windows pro on my desk top. It was great because you could say no to updating at all, or choose only security ones. That lasted under a year I think then they changed terms and conditions, and now it just updates even if I defer to an other day, more than twice. . The most I can do is say no updates for a month , ex during Moc last year, but then after the month is up it goes bananas, with update galore. We are not in control what ever we like to think.

I hate updates, they always come when I need my computer (or phone).
I prefer update with the phone, they can be done during the night. But I can't do that for computer. The worse thing is when the update come when you are working...

My computer and phone both take it out of my hands and run an update automatically if I don't do it relatively quickly. Windows is the worst--the longest I can set it to not update is 1 month. If the month ends and I didn't run them, I'll inevitably come down in the morning to find it updated overnight. That would be fine if I was expecting it, but when I'm not I usually have a bunch of things open in PS, like papers and elements that I picked out but haven't added to the layout yet. Drives me nuts when they get closed for an update and I have to start from scratch!

I'm a wait and see. I still haven't made the jump to the next Mac OS because I heard it doesn't play nicely with CC 2019, and that's the Photoshop I use.
