In Windows 7, you open the Control panel from your Start menu, then open the Font manager, then drag and drop to another folder to make a backup copy before you start deleting fonts. That way if you accidentally delete a font that you really wanted to keep, you have a backup copy from which to re-install. And to delete, you just select the font and press the delete key.
