As far as clothing, I tend to go with what fits, is flattering and is comfortable. With my back pain, I don't have any patience for binding, scratchy, etc., clothes.
As far as home decor, I love watching trends and will occasionally add a piece here or there; however, my house tends to lean towards antiques and classic pieces so if I do have something from a trend, I like it to kind of meld in with what I have. For instance, I have a ampersand that is covered with sequins. I love it. It fits with all my gold things and it's fun and updated.
