I love to keep a travel journal when we take a family trip so that I can keep notes about all that we saw and did. I usually just buy one but last year, I took a store-bought one and decorated it with pages that I made and printed from from TLP designs. Since I glued my pages on top of the original pages, that turned out to be a little bulky. So, this year, I decided to make a journal from scratch. I used three sets of traveler's notebook designs from Dunia Designs. These coordinated beautifully together and made the project so easy since I could use the pages as is. I printed it booklet style (trying to figure out the order of the pages to print a booklet was literally the hardest part of this project ) and then did a simple stitched binding by just poking some holes on the spine and stitching with embroidery floss. Using the Traveler's Notebook collections made this a quick project and I love it so much more than a boring plain travel journal. Now, I can't wait to go on my trip to fill it in!
Uh-oh, bookstyle printing always makes my brain hurt. But it's well worth it when you end up with a gorgeous TN like this.
So true! I took some blank printer paper and numbered it so that I could see which pages would match up with each other, then worked my way through it. It got easier as I went along.
That's a fantastic tip - and one I'm going to use because I can now start making journals for my grandson and this will make it so much easier. Thanks for telling us about it!
I love your little travel journal Dawn! And I agree, trying to figure out the printing is the hardest! I hope you will have a great trip!
Wow! This is so amazing! Like open your own Etsy store fabulous! I love it. I totally agree with you on the figuring out which pages to go where in order to print correct is brain baffling!
