While I was reading through this thread- feeling more at home, it made me think about comments I get, or rather who they are from. So here is a funny little confession:

I still get TOTALLY STARSTRUCK when designers comment on my pages.

It feels so absolutely silly because our designers are regular women like the rest of us (wait what?!), but I feel like they are famous rock stars! I remember the first time I got a comment from one of my favourite designers I was giddy and I actually called my mum to tell her, and it hasn't gotten any less exciting over the years.

Don't even get me started when one of my favourites added me as a friend on Facebook! I nearly died!

This is always the case! Always!

FB makes me nervous. :giggle Not that I do anything wrong, or post too much - except fluff and fun, but I don't friend people cause I'm always worried - I'm boring, they won't recognize me, I will offend someone/somehow and I'm a little odd. Usually, I just wait it out to see if they offer, or just live in my happy little world. I think I talk more here than on FB. I always get a thrill if a designer or scrappers friend me. :)

Isn't it nice to know the rock stars of our hobby care enough to interact with us, the fans? :) I love when a designer comments on a LO that doesn't have their products in it, not just because it's always nice to read a comment on your work, but also because I love that it means the designer doesn't just look at her gallery and comment on what she sees there: the designer looks at The Gallery, and truly appreciate what she sees. To me, that shows the designer loves scrapping just as much as I do and loves the gallery for its inspiration. :wubb

yes yes and yes...and I use to be so nervous to even leave a comment on their pages..and
it makes me so happy when a designer scraps with their things, or someone else's!
I remember the first time our Laura (the big boss left a comment on my page) I freaked! lol in a good way!

SO agree! I feel like the designers are our own in-house rockstars lol so if they leave a comment on a layout of mine, I have this total fangirl moment and then laugh at myself for being a total groupie :giggle heck, even if they 'like' a layout of mine! I know that, for me, I tend to 'like' LO's more than comment on them, only because I start to feel like I say the same things over and over in my comments. I don't want to sound like I don't really MEAN what I'm saying, you know? Just putting this out here though: a 'like' from me is just as meaningful as a comment. It's all LOVES!!! :heartslub

I agree! I still remember my very first GSO. My family couldn't understand why I was so excited that someone liked the cover of my 2015 album until I explained that it's an all over the world GSO, and not just my close friends picking my layout.

^^This is me too! Sometimes I struggle to put into words what I like about a page! I really respect the Pollys and other ladies who take the time to make meaningful comments, and when it's a designer :cloud9

Absolutely everything that's been said. It makes me feel like I represented their product well which is another boost. I do have to admit some of the polly's have reached rockstar status too in my mind. I'm sure Laura has commented but that's pretty cool too. Of course I like any comments.
I do like that our designers are involved in the forum and gallery. And I love @LynnG 's newsletters when she not only shows a couple of her pages but the story behind them. It's always fun to get her newsletter.

Love that! Love that you read it too ;-) Thank you so much Carilyne xx

I've gotten starstruck myself, especially the 2 times Laura commented on my LOs. I absolutely loved the chat where Cheryl went through a bunch of LOs & she & Laura commented on them. I've been impressed by all the designer chats I've been to.
Like Yolanda & Kate said, I also have a really hard time writing comments. I just don't feel like I'm getting across my meaning. So, every comment I get makes me giddy. There are some people here who mean the absolute world to me, when they comment it's pure love & my heart feels so full. I still get starstruck by @gonewiththewind. But with her, I feel like if I were in Florida, we could go drink sweet tea on the beach. She's just so darn lovable.

Totally agree with you 100%!!! I remember the first time a designer reached out to me and asked if I would be on her CT team.!.!.!.!.! Say What!!? I totally fainted!:circles And it seems like my family/friends just don't quite understand how excited I get.

Well I am VERY glad it's not just me, though I had an inkling I wouldn't be the only one, LOL!

Absolutely. I love all of our designers, they are all so down to earth and lovely, not a snooty one in the bunch.

Oh no, I don't know if I have ever left them love on their pages (outside of blog comments). I feel bad now. I'll have to go and find them. I will hunt them down and love them! Lol!
I am pretty terrible at leaving love, I did decide to make sure that I leave at least two loves for every page I upload now... which I didn't for my last two pages, oh gosh, I really am terrible...
I had a comment from our big boss this morning actually :heartlub

I know what you mean. I feel like I always start with "This is so beautiful..." I need some new words!

My family were a bit like that too, but now it is like being on the news and they are all so excited and want to see!

I love @LynnG 's newsletter too. Getting to know here a little more every time!

Me too, Me too, Me too! These designers are more important to me that Hollywood celebs!

Absolutely! I certainly know more about our designers than I do about celebrities!

Definitely!

My friends still don't, lol. They get excited for their sales awards, and buying houses, and getting promotions, and all of that other mediocre stuff. Bahaha!!

Always have a big grin on my face when a designer comments on one of my pages - although to be perfectly honest, I get a happy feeling when anyone comments on one of my works but designers make me feel just a bit special.

It's funny, I have a friend who is a very well known designer in the patchwork industry, and going to a craft fair with her is an amazing experience. She was telling me once how someone had arrived at her shop, asked for her autograph and a photo and then broke down crying because she was so happy to have met her. We all have our personal rock stars I guess - we are lucky to have such friendly ones! :love
