lol but really. it was. I'm taking the weekend off from being an adult i've decided

Ce's school social worker called me earlier & left a message.. so there i was panicking.. we've had a few calls from her in the past and they've not been entirely pleasant

I call her back and after a minute or two of chatting she says to me.. well... this just happened today, and i wanted to check in with you... one of the teachers came by my office today and was concerned because connor keeps wearing these ripped jeans (NOTE: the knees are ripped.. and he's an eight year old BOY, and school ends june 19th). Blah blah blah.. the jeans keep getting more and more ripped.. and we're concerned..........
<pause>
does connor have enough clothes?
Wha? ... I was like um.. yes? What? She went on to say that she pulled him out of class to ask if everything was ok at home because of the ripped pants. -.-
give.me.a.break.
This isn't even a dress code violation issue in the elementary school.. Just that he's wearing "poverty pants". Gaghds. GAGHSDGHSG. We live in a relatively rich snooty area so I guess I shouldn't be so surprised they're horrified by ripped pants.
It was irritating.. and embarrassed ce to be pulled out of class for that. She did say that the school had resources available if people needed clothes, which is great and all.. but the kid has a zillion outfits, he just likes those ratty jeans, so he keeps wearing them, and they keep getting rattier. This is our normal routine every year.. Wear the jeans, they get ripped/too short- we cut them off at knee length over the summer for shorts. @_@ I thought that was... normal. -.-
Oy vey.
sorry I shouldn't laugh but that is funny!
