When I was staying with my parents (in Cali on the beautiful coast) in an RV. Each night, my mom would go from the back end of the RV (their bedroom) to the very front of the coach to put show pillows on the seat. Then in the morning, she would retrieve them and put them back on the bed. I asked her, "How many miles you think you have walked fluffing and retrieving pillows?"

We laughed, and then I got home, and darn if I don't take show pillows off each night too...aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah:crazy3
What about you? Your bed making include putting on pillows that you never use?
 
Yes, we only have them on the bed when it's made up and toss them off onto the floor to sleep.
 
I used to have a gabillion, at least. Tiny, round, square, blah blah. Now, just two with shams that go over the four we sleep with.
I do use those in the morning when we drink coffee as an extra prop so finally no more stacking in the corner chair in a death defying pile for me. Lmao!
 
I LOVE decorative pillows, so I have them everywhere- on the bed, on the couch, and, yes, even in our RV. I change them out with the seasons since they're such a cheap way to redecorate a little. I keep the walls and furniture neutral and let the accessories carry the color.

My husband hates them, I think. If he goes to bed before I do, he doesn't pile all of the decorative pillows neatly on the bench under the window like I do. He more or less just pushes them all onto my side of the bed, then goes to sleep. :giggle
 
lol, my hubby will push them all to my side too! I have scaled waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down to just the two shams, cause my silly dog sleeps on it during the day! lol
I have pillows on all my couches too..but I love and use them all the time!! big ol' feather pillow is my nap time companion at 2pm each day! lol
 
Silly aren't we. I have shams to match the quilts on the beds and toss them on the floor each night - seems like they will get dirty if we use them but not if they lay on the floor.... ? I gave up on decorative couch pillows long ago - they just get covered with cat hair. We have sort of decorative pillows on the couches, but we use them and they are washable..
 
I used to put the shams on the bed each day I would even put the extra bed pillows in the closet every night until hubby said what in the world?? LOL that was right after we got married 24 years ago.. now I put the shams on the bed only when company is coming as otherwise it is just us.. I make the bed every day but don't put the shams on it unless we are expecting someone. If they are on the bed and I forget to remove them, and hubby gets to bed first they are flung across the room! Ha ha! Funny topic!!
 
Yes! We have 8 pillows on our bed, but of course, we only use 2. The end up getting piled up on top of my dresser each night. Sometimes they even make it onto the floor, then getting tripped on if one of use gets up during the night. lol
 
Oh don't get me started on the pillows in our bedroom. Lol! I have 5 decorative ones on the bed that get chucked to the floor (but they are beachy and make me happy) and then my husband and I have 7 pillows that we actually use at night too. It's ridiculous and funny at the same time. :giggle

I have one, my hubby one and <cough> my dog has one!
do you sleep on them over them or what??

For reals. It's pathetic I know. So... it started when I was pregnant and had back pain, so I'd put a pillow behind my back to lean on. We have a king sized bed, so I have one that my head goes on, and one little one to hold my book or phone up while I read myself to sleep. And THEN I have one pillow that I hug. That's four for just me. Then my hubby has picked up my habits. He wants one to lean on too AND a huggy pillow and one for his head. There are more pillows than people! Lol!
 
yes, and not just on my bed ... i have throw pillows everywhere. on chairs, tucked into baskets, i'll put a pillow on anything that doesn't move, lol. but i do use them and like to have a lot of different sizes, or firm/softness to prop up on. i'm big on relaxing in my bed for a bit in the AM or for awhile at night to get some peace and quiet.

We have 8 pillows on our bed. They just kept accumulating until I was satisfied.

I don't have any of the decorative pillows because I couldn't figure out what to do with them at night and got rid of them all. ;) Some of my pillows have decorative shams to make up for it!
 
I am just in giggles at the amount of pillows some of ya'll KEEP on the bed! What a wild bunch we are!!!
I have a small couch in our homeschool/office and it has two nice pillows for either end, and my lap (it is the ONLY piece of furniture she is allowed on in the house) pushes the pillows off onto the floor, and yep, I am the one who picks them back up! yikes! it is an epidemic of 1st world proportions...we will never get that time back..bhahhah
 
I love decorative pillows. I have four on my couch as well as matching throws folded up under them. All Americana themed. I put them in the curved corner of our sectional couch. Two shams on our bed and two decorative pillows that match plus the two we sleep on. But at Christmastime I have the two we sleep on, two in shams, four matching square decorative pillows AND five kind of star shaped pillows that are snowmen and a Santa! Then the matching spread and throw. Love our Christmastime bed!! But it's a lot of work to make it each day and I can't stand not making it. Feels like my whole day is messy if the bed isn't made.
 
I just love that you all make your beds everyday. Ha ha ha!! My husband is still in bed most mornings when I leave for work so the bed doesn't get made. Actually, I make it BEFORE I go to bed every night. I like the sheets and the blankets nice and organized!!

I love to have my bed made each morning, but sometimes...well I kinda ooooooooooooze out...and the day is gone, and yep like you Robyn....I gotta tighten the sheets, and get it all nice and made before I go to bed...

I've totally been known to make the bed after getting home from work at night. Before bed. LOL.

Re: pillows. I used to do the sham/throw pillow thing but after about 10 years of marriage and 9.5 years of frustration about them, I got rid of them. *FREEDOM*
We also got rid of our bedspread after about 15 years of my husband throwing his part over on me...and me waking up in a sweaty heap.

Now we have a thin little quilt that actually has worn spots in it that I fear will become holes soon. And 4 pillows... they all stay in bed. I use 3 (all under my head) and DH uses one. Note: I like those squishy little beanbaggy pillows that you can't really buy anymore... it takes all 3 to lift my head off the bed. It's awesome. LOL.

What genius came up with the throw pillow idea anyway? #iwishihad
